Re: [Space/Thaumatology] Stargate: Fantasy - Worldbuilding thread
Seeing a trend here. Anyone have suggestions for what should be in the next Question or Questions about dragons?

How dragons interact with each other (i.e. they rarely meet to mate and nothing else, they occasionally talk with each other, sometimes they work together, all the way up to "dragon nations"), how dragons interact with other sapients (i.e. cave monsters, pets, overlords, citizens), how many dragons there are

Perhaps something like "How common are sapient dragons, as opposed to the more animalistic ones?" or "What relationship exists, if any, between sapient and sub-sapient dragons?" with the latter having options such as "completely separate and largely-unrelated," "the sapients have domesticated or otherwise rule over the sub-sapients," "the sub-sapients are largely split into predators and (dangerous) prey of the sapients, like lions and buffalo, respectively, were to humans," "many of the sub-sapients are actually just juveniles of the same race as sapients," etc.

4 allows for (but does not require) intelligent dragons. Only 6 requires intelligent dragons. There might not be enough interest to need more dragon questions.

So I'd be perfectly happy if those aren't part of the equation.

Re: [Space/Thaumatology] Stargate: Fantasy - Worldbuilding thread
I mean I didn't vote for 6 because I feel it's not the time to decide whether dragons were organized in separate states and such, because that's a pretty specific option that's only tangentially related to this one. I also assumed that 4 would definitely mean sapient dragons, so...

EDIT: Also, yes, I did phrase some of the options wrong on Dragons Question I. I probably should have left 6 off entirely, since I'm needing to do this as a full Question anyway.

Re: [Space/Thaumatology] Stargate: Fantasy - Worldbuilding thread
Dragons Question II
How common are sapient dragons? 1. There are stories about them, but that doesn't mean that they exist. 2. There are sapient spirits that take the form of dragons, or possess living ones, but biological sapient dragons are either non-existent, or so rare that might as well be. 3. Living sapient dragons are known to exist, but are so extremely rare that the PCs might only ever meet one once. 4. Living sapient dragons are known to exist, but are rare (there are either no dragon civilizations, or only quite small ones). 5. Living sapient dragons exist, and while uncommon, often lead groups, possibly even nations, of less powerful beings (not necessarily reptilian beings - some form of GURPS Banestorm's Reptile Men or D&D's kobolds are plausible, but so are humans, elves, Banestorm kobolds, or mixed groups). 6. There is a dragon civilization (how important it is and whether it involves itself 'locally' (from Frolech's perspective) would be in other Questions). 7. There are multiple dragon civilizations, whether of specific types of dragon, or broad groups of draconic races. 8. Something else (please specify). Please remember to include the number of your preferred option when you vote. ******* Answer: 2 and 3 have three votes each, while 1, 4, 5, and 6 have two each, and 7 has one vote.

Re: [Space/Thaumatology] Stargate: Fantasy - Worldbuilding thread
I'll go with 1 (there are only stories), 2 (sapient spirits and similar will sometimes possess dragons), or 3 (so rare the party is unlikely to encounter any, and if they do likely just one). All three allow for the GM to have an encounter with a sapient dragon, but don't make them common enough to significantly influence the setting.
