I show the picture of the man in armour. "This man spoke with a Riask bigwig. I didn't understand what they were saying, they were speaking Telgris."
"This man? You do not know him?"
After being assured Julian doesn't know who he is, the soldier says "That is Yatreb. He fights our Remi. He is in charge of enemy army."

I show the Airship picture. "I drew that before the airship visited the village."
"You are Riask. Do your dreams have meaning?"

At first it seems implausible he knows his face, but then I recall Yatreb is Samiel's brother. He probably was fairly prominent, and had his face on coins and stuff.

I answer, "Yes." and have him conclude this is common with Riask, without really lying.

"Where? Where is this?"

After Julian says all he can

"I will tell. Let me know if you see more"

Julian's day at the forge is decent (Made your HT roll). He works hard and is able to keep up with the demand to keep the fire hot.

The boys don't meet up that day. Some kind of festival or ceremony? they are all supposed to be home. Julian is invited to eat with the owner of the shop and the boy... is that his son? or perhaps his nephew. Its a bigger gathering, more than one nuclear family. One of the other boys is there. They sing a strange song, and pass around two lamps, each saying something before blowing the light out, then lighting it again with the other lamp. The language is stiff and awkward, not quite what he has been learning, but similar. He and some of the younger children are not allowed a turn.

He is eventually told to move along, and he is back outside on the street.

When he arrives at his sleeping location, two men with ugly looks are waiting for him. He's seen that look before: a mixture of sadism and greed.

I nod. I'm sure that they probably have people who can predict how far it went from the village better than me.

I suppose it's nice to be seen as part of the community enough to be brought out to large family things like this.

Must be a religious thing. I guess they figure I don't follow their religion, and the younger kids haven't properly entered?

You know, one thing nice about the hole was that sleeping virtually anywhere was just the same as anyone else's space.

I briefly consider just letting them knock the stuffing out of me before I think about my diary. Paper is valuable here. I decide to walk straight on by and try to slip away. I'll find somewhere else to sleep.

3 + 4 + 6 = 13 ... success
If that's no good, I'll luck it.

Not really, he was hoping you knew more.

Sort of... but how would he find out?

Julian hides, but they look at him at just the wrong moment... but miss that its him, and he's gone after that. He feels lucky. (your luck has been burned)

He finds a new location to settle down, and sleeps peacefully: There are no dreams.

When he goes to report that morning, someone else is with his contact. Someone who speaks Riask a little better, but doesn't seem to be quite military, even if he is nicely dressed.

"Where is your vasic stone? What have you been trained in? Did you see anything last night?"

Well, if that's the case, I explain my idea. "OK, so the city that was attacked was two days away from the village that was attacked. The ship has had five days since the village to reach the army. Assuming the ship went the same speed, the ship moved five halves the distance as from the city to the village. Then you draw a circle centered on the village, and that's where the ship could be."

Well, I could ask, but that feels a little nosy, and it does seem to match the sleeping people, and the water ritual.

"No, no dreams. They come and go."

"Just heat and light. It didn't come with me. Do you need one?"

The man watches, sketches out a matching diagram in the dirt, and then nods and sends Julian on his way.

"Just dreams and heat and light? that is a strange set."

"I never learned the teleporting or speaking Vasics. They weren't as needed as light and heat. It's not really a set either, the dreams were before Vasic for me."

"But Riask needs Vasic to do magic! What about the leaking pattern?"

That's the physics altering Vasic, right?
