Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
Chandra finds a safe place to conceal herself and then examines the film, if she can do so without destroying it. Does her Homeline training, or her pre-med studies, suggest what the swab and slip might be? As a medical student, her first thought is a biological or medical sample of some sort.
When she's done, she's going to look around and get a better idea of her surroundings, so she can take better care of herself. (OOC: Also adding Survival (Forest) and Parachronic Operations, the skill of how to operate a conveyor. Both would have been part of Academy classes, though the specific biome might have been serendipitous ... Chandra would have guessed at either forest or jungle as a possibility.)

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
The film looks very old-fashioned, but its developed, and its not hard to put it up to the sun and inspect it.
The photos are of a creature. An unearthly creature. The thing is generally shaped like a Loris with six legs, a prehensile tail, a covering that seemed a bit coarser than hair, and wearing clothes. Heavy Clothes, designed to keep it warm, and very well fitting. The mouth was near invisible, though heavy, jowls seemed to surround it. Circular jowls in fact. Then she got the next picture and found the truth of the matter: the creature had no jaws. None at all. It did have loose cheeks and a sphincter of some sort, and tongues. Four tongues. Four long prehensile tongues. With teeth. Or at least body protrusions. Did they count as radula? The picture of the mouth was taken in a different setting than the others -- a picture through a window while the creature was eating a variety of fruit. A man appeared near the creature in every picture. An armed body-guard type. The pictures are in black in white, and the setting appeared to be 'sherlock holmes-y' urban, and just that time period. When would that be exactly? she couldn't remember. The vehicle the creature was on (and it was always on top of a perch or on its vehicle) bore some resemblance to a moped wedded to a dolly, and unlike everything around the creature appeared to be made of plastic. It was constantly fiddling with controls, and seemed to have a camera of its own. It very much reacted to the humans around it, and in a few pictures, seemed to be holding a conversation. Denton... something is familiar about that name. Perhaps its a street name? She looks over the pictures again, and sees the 479 on one of the houses. Yishim is entirely unfamiliar to her. She's never heard of any Yishim. The swap does in fact appear to be a sample. either a saliva sample or a skin sample or something like that. She can't tell, because its very small. She looks around at the woods around her, and notices a nearby stream ... with a culvert laid into it. This area seems to be at least partially maintained. OCC: No serendipity needed in choosing the specialty of the survival skill. You'll find out why shortly. I think. Yes, biology roll indicates she's familiar with lorises. And Radula.

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
She keeps the stuff with her -- awkwardly, since she has no pockets -- and begins following the culverted stream, staying within concealment and off of any tracks or roads. She needs to find a settlement, but she doesn't want it to find her too quickly.

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
She finds the edge of the forest quite quickly. There is a field of young wheat (or perhaps some other grain), and beyond that, a cluster of brick houses. The trappings of the field seem to fit the time period given on the photos.

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
From where she's hidden, can she see any people around the houses? Or in the fields?

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
No one in the fields, at least on this side. She thinks she can see a few people in the houses, but she's not sure. Its fairly far off.

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
Did Chandra make the crossing more or less intact, or has she acquired any bruising or minor injuries?

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
If she uses the wheat for cover, can she make it to a barn? That could give her cover, clothes and a chance to listen in to people.
