Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
The two of them swap clothing fairly close to each other, in separate stalls of the same bathroom -- if someone sees her go in twice, hopefully they'll just think she forgot something and returned for it.
When Tereza wakes up, Her roommate is still sleeping. She heads off to more of her training. Did Haley and Chandra make any plans as to when Haley could investigate Tereza?

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
If all Hailey wants to do is observation, the range sounds like the obvious location -- since Tereza mentioned that she's taking a crash course in weapons handling, she'll be spending a lot of time there and be intensely focused on the task at hand, rather than anyone nearby. Hailey will have to be careful not to raise the suspicions of the range marshal or any instructors, of course, but it's a reasonably public place, or should be.
Since Tereza is highly extroverted and enjoys entertaining, there's a decent chance she'll be in any "social spaces" the Academy may have. It'd be easy to keep an eye on her there and even to engage her in conversation -- "she's not exactly reticent." The risk there is Hailey's own brusqueness; she's not a social butterfly herself and might have more difficulty operating in that environment. Finally, since Chandra does belong to the room, she could go through Tereza's things while she's out. This has two risks. Number one, Tereza might return unexpectedly or (as Hailey did) have security measures in place. Number two, if there are any campus cameras, Chandra would be screwed. Of course, if there were any cameras in the room, the two Chandras would have been screwed long ago. "Your suggestions?"

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
Haley kind of wants to do all three -- watch from a distance, interact with her, and investigate her stuff. She thinks the distance is the best way to start.
"If she's relying on magical means to guard her goods, wouldn't you have noticed it by now. She could still have a camera in place or something like that though. Let me in and I'll take care of any of that. For interruptions -- Lets get a good feel for her activities through the day before trying that. Keep an eye on her. Yes, that means follow her around for a bit. Or at least establish that when she starts shooting she'll keep busy for an hour." They get a chance to watch Teresa at the range -- a place Morgan has avoided so she doesn't stick out the way Tereza is now. She's currently practising handling and shoot/don't shoot scenarios rather than raw accuracy. Haley: "She's not trained at all. She's green. I wonder if she's trained in anything else." Haley could investigate tereza with magic, but she's being a bit cautious and doesn't want to risk it. Getting caught will blow her long term mission wide open. She does say she'll use magic on tereza's gear and investigate the minds of the people tereza is working with.

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
"The one bit of training she mentioned was linguistics," Chandra tells her quietly. "She speaks eight languages -- though not Hindi." She adds in that language "Small favors, I suppose."
She doesn't expect Haley to know the language -- this is an American -- but if she does, it'll be an unexpected bonus.

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
"Eight languages. That's ... impressive, but doesn't indicate any training. I'm fairly limited in what I speak. Enough to find the bathroom and buy food in most of the first world. No Hindi."
They don't find a way to talk to Terza: her socializing time is distinctly limited, and she seems to eat lunch in the simulation buildings. And those aren't classes you just run across. Haley is wondering if there is a way to talk to Tereza when she comes in at the end of the day. Tereza wakes up Chandra when she comes to the bed again. Today's exercises were harder. She's mentally exhausted. Chandra and Haley identify the next day a time tereza will be gone. Actually, its not that hard. Haley pulls off a few spells, and says she isn't picking up any magic around the luggage. And she isn't picking up any survalience either. They open up the luggage. What do they find (your choice, Poonbahbah).

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
Tereza will apologize for waking Chandra, tell her, "Hello," and wish her a good night as she goes to bed exhausted.
They don't find much of interest. Several changes of clothing, a textbook on Parachronics she had hoped to study in her nonexistent free time, toiletries, some shoes. The most interesting thing will probably be her Cellphone assuming she's been told she isn't allowed to have it with her while she's out training. Even then it doesn't have a lot on it. Some friends numbers from Quebec and elsewhere, some games, some music (including some covers she recorded which are quite good,) and some social media apps. Assuming the have a connection to log in they'll find she doesn't have a lot of contacts on there either despite her being something of a social butterfly. |

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
If she's left herself logged in on any of the social media apps, are there any conversations of interest?
(Sorry for the delay in posting; I'm at an out-of-state conference. In Austin, curiously, enough.)

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
She did. It's not particularly secure. Nothing terribly note worthy I think. Some random chit chat, some plans to maybe meet up with a gal named "Sephie," and study with a guy named Jake.
EDIT: OOC Again this is assuming she's been told to leave her phone behind and there's an internet connection letting you log in. Both of which are up to Eric. It wouldn't be unreasonable either way. Last edited by Poonbahbah; 10-20-2015 at 12:38 PM. |

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
The next several days will be very carefully regimented by Chandra. She works with the boys and the other Chandra to create the necessary paperwork confusion that will allow them both to go. Morgan plans to go first -- that way, if someone gets suspicious when Gopal leaves, she'll check out as a real Homeline cadet. Morgan also quietly acquires whatever jewelry or other items are needed to mark her as a married woman in India. That way, when she fades into the crowd, she can claim her husband is overseas and avoid the risk of an arranged marriage.
She tries to persuade Gopal to nap offsite when she can -- Tereza having met Morgan as her "real roommate," there's less chance of an inconsistency being spotted if they don't switch as often. It also gives Morgan the chance to talk with her at night and find out more about her without involving Haley so often. However, Morgan also continues Plan B, her training in meditation and research of Johnson's Rome. Each night, she keeps trying to think herself across the invisible gap between worlds, allowing her to leave before Gopal can decide to spring any trap. And so that I can better make arrangements for my own, she thinks grimly.

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
There is no internet connection, but they are able to look at some past information -- which is disappointingly sparse and non-incriminating.
Gopal is stubborn about at least doing 50/50 with the room*. But that does give her at least some chance to talk with tereza at night... Terza is approaching her room on the third night when she senses magic on the other side. Magic she doesn't recall sensing before... *you gave Morgan will 14, what do you expect?
