New "Single Player" expansions in AUG

Steve Jackson Games will release three small single-player expansions for Car Wars 6th Edition, the first for the new version of the game, in August.

Car Wars Sonic Strike includes 40 all-new cards, including sonic weapons, new Crew for your autoduel teams, and a Grilled Cheese Dispenser. MSRP is $10.95.

Car Wars Aggressive Arsenal includes 40 cards, which add new weapons, structure, accessories, and terrain. The cards were originally included in Miniatures Set 1. MSRP is $10.95.

Car Wars Tailgate Trouble includes 32 cards and their tokens, which add new weapons, structure, accessories, and terrain. The cards in this expansion were originally released in the Dropped Weapons Pack, plus the Kinetic Diffuser from Road Tiles and Off-Road Suspension, from Playmat. MSRP is $12.95.

I'm happy to see new stuff hitting retail, especially in addition to the Orange/Purple Starter #3 wave.
I'm confused why they needed to repackage the cards from Mini Set 1. Is that out of print?
The Single Player line got me excited, as I was expecting scenarios that added to the rules in the Companion or something. Alas, no single player content.

Yeah, "single-player" in this context threw me ffor a few minutes too.

What it means is that each expansion contains cards for one player. E.g. two copies of each weapon, four copies of each structure, one copy of a crew member, etc.

If you want to mount a pair of the same new weapon on multiple cars simultaneously, then you'll need multiple copies of the expansion.

Which isn't /that/ terrible, since they're only ten bucks each.

I'll be in for two of the sonic weapon expansions, since I typically only play one-on-one duels.

The full Miniatures Set 1 is still available. This is a way to get the cards from that set for those who do not have an interest in adding miniatures to their collection, or don't need copies for 4 players.

During the Kickstarter, there were Bot Rules released that gave a way to automate other players, for certain levels of backers. These were also added to the upcoming Car Wars Companion book.

The playmats also had Off-Road Tires and Ballistic Shell build cards. Will they be available in Tailgate Trouble as well?

I feel like The Road Tiles and Playmat build cards are the least accessible build cards. By which I mean they require a bulky purchase for very few cards.

It is good to see them more readily available.
