Luck modifier: trying to increase criticals
Hey all,
I'm wondering if this sounds reasonable: Ridiculous Luck [60] ( Only on successful rolls -40%;) [24] Every 10 minutes, on a successful roll, use your luck. This is mandatory. You must use it on the first successful roll once your power becomes available. Specifically, does -40% seem fair for the limitation "only on successful rolls"? |

I think -40% is way too generous. If you know you have a mandatory luck roll coming up, it's not difficult to figure out some modifier that will increase your chances so that a successful roll comes 98% of the time. I'd make it -5% or -10%.

Re: Luck modifier: trying to increase criticals
I'd probably eyeball "only on succesfull rolls" in the -50% region.
The main reason to take luck is to re-roll failed rolls and hence avoid at best unfortunate and at worst disastrous outcomes. This is the bang you get for the bucks from luck. Only being able to re-roll successful ones is to me a quite significant ***. edit: Although "active only" is only a -20% modifier. "only on succesfull rolls" is still a bigger limitation than that. So -30%/-40% sounds about right. Last edited by B9anders; 10-02-2012 at 04:30 PM. |
