Conan Clarifications - The Dweller & the Mask of Acheron

I've searched the forums for clarifications on these but there doesn't seem to have been an answer. I've bundled the questions as they're from the same booster.

With the Dweller, i can give him an item a munchkin would use. Can I only give him items requiring hands? Do these items count as one-shot items for these purposes? i.e. do I get them back?

With the Mask of Acheron I can discard a card to add a monster to a combat. It there a limit to how often I can do this in a single combat?

Both questions came up in last night's game, and while I can normally feel out an appropriate rule, this one was difficult.

You can give him any Item: "LOTS of hands" is just flavor text. No, you do not get them back and they do not count as one-shot Items (unless they actually are).

Yes -- once. If it had meant to be used multiple times, the card would be worded differently.

I'm just curious is that the official ruling? Because the wording of the text doesn't seem to imply that its a singular use. Ie: "During any combat" as opposed to "Once during any combat", like the thief card. IMHO its currently worded exactly how it would be written to allow multiple uses, short of saying "this effect can be use multiple times."

Should the player assume any effect is usable only once per combat/turn/etc, unless it is explicitly stated? Sort of like the 'you can win game with this level gain' thing? Because without any limiting language on the card it seems to imply that the effect is not necessarily singular.

Yes. "You may discard A card to add THE monster."
