Default Munchkin Games at WalMart

I've recently discovered that WalMart has a few base Munchkin games available...such as Munchkin Booty, Munchkin Bites, and Munchkin Conan...each less than $20. I've learned that Munchkin Conan only has one edition/published version available, but I'm not sure what edition/published version WalMart has for Munchkin Bites. Has anyone ever purchased Bites from WalMart? I emailed WalMart, but they were unable to tell me the edition.

There are two different things to look at when considering the edition. The more important of the two is to make sure that the edition you have was printed after May 2010. Additional details on the changes can be found here - http://www.worldofmunchkin.com/faq/changelog.html . If I'm remembering correctly, all of the sets were reprinted in that period to incorporate those changes.

Looking back at the stakeholder's report, WalMart is first mentioned in the 2013 report - http://www.sjgames.com/general/stakeholders/ . It appears that distribution to Target and WalMart started in 2012, so the odds of the sets being printed after May 2010 seem relatively high (but your mileage may vary).

The other thing to consider is the specific printing that you are getting, which is less important. Each time a card needs to be updated (unclear text, typo, etc), it gets updated in a future printing, so the problem doesn't exist in future sets. There is a full list of errata at http://www.worldofmunchkin.com/errata/ for each product.

To be very clear, there is only one edition of the Munchkin games -- we have not done Munchkin Second Edition.

I'm virtually certain that anything you buy from Walmart will be very recent.

As far a regular Munchkin goes, Target will pricematch Walmart's website, so you can get the cheaper price in-store at Target if you don't want to wait and want to look at it before you buy.

The only two versions I've seen at Target (at least in the actual store) are the original Munchkin and Munchkin Legends (exclusive to Target).

That's why I specifically called out "regular Munchkin". :D

I can't imagine there's too many folks here who don't already have it and want it, but maybe there's someone looking for an excuse to pick up a second copy or such. ;)

Gotcha. Also, I saw that Target.com has many more Munchkin base games...but they are a bit more expensive than compared to WalMart.
