Revelan builds on what Gregory said, and then starts demonstrating a wide range of magic, and talking about the implications of various "Shapes". He says at some point they will go to the guild and look at the various types of magic different casters have.

Then he starts Teaching Peter about how to detect magical curses and traps.

Given his ability to sense magic, these likely come very easily.

Oh its very simple: Infinity will contact matthew six times, and then the deal is over. They don't want communication!

Okay! Can we say we specified at the time of check in, Matthew can vary the interval to the next check in, based on their progress? Once that's established, Peter can file this under "Mission Completed"

Ink Thur doesn't come with him on that trip. He just sees the distinctive peaks.

Can Peter return to Ink Thur by returning to where he was in dreams previously?

Peter will try and focus on the concept of "Revelan's Place of Old Magic" and see if he get's a ping back.

If that is not fruitful, he will see if he can trun his vision back to the pristine realm... Perhaps it is time to report and test if he will be able to leave.

I had to check julian's encounter with the Golem guard check, but yes, He can pick up the traps very easily. Most of the time he just instantly notices they're there. The hard part is knowing what they are Relevan is very impressed, and at the end of the day runs Peter through every trap and ward he has access to, and declares the first stage of Peter's training to be done. Tomorrow they'll learn about dealing with the spells.

This doesn't give a point in the traps skill, it just lets Peter use the sense to recognize magical traps... which is probably more effective anyways.

Rolling against dreaming... a 12. He returns to the old dream quickly.

Peter decides to see if Yrth magic is effective here, and casts Seek Food, specifying that he is looking for tea, so he can prepare some for An Kona's breakfast while he fills her in on his exploits.

He tells the tale...

"...So he wanted me to tell you guys he's in Draco, and is still dragon hunting, and has eliminated a few possibilities, but is still looking for the right one, so he may be some months longer... His original message also said he was still looking for a way out, but, like I told you, I took care of that and got him a lift offworld with a small entourage when he's ready... so, progress!"

Peter will want to visit and socialize with Tar Bilik and his other acquaintances. He will have to give apologies to anyone asking about the mortal realm, as he has not been back since his last visit here and their messages and charms have not yet been delivered... Maybe tomorrow if his dreams come swiftly. He will update his information if they like, given they now have a report of Ink Thur.

Peter will deliver the update again at the council or to whoever wants it and his hoping for another night of campfires and song.

They also ask Peter to not say more than that to the other gods.



There is indeed a day of celebration, singing, and feasting. They haven't heard from their real leaders in over a year: The Council is kind of just stand-ins.

I presumed he outgrew that in the natural progression when he started landing in his bed and Thuroma, after he learned to control his jumps. It was after that that I started asking about his pants as it was the next anticipated advancement level before 'new powers'.

He was able to control his first jump hitting "level 2" and shedding Unconscious only in Post 875.
He was able to hit his own bed on his second jump home (I thought) hitting "level 3" and shedding Drifting in Post 1126.
So I've been anticipating "level 4" removing Naked for the last 800 posts or so ;)

Why not? It's the exclude bit that makes it work. You cast it, and exclude everything that isn't tea, and you have detect tea. Unless Tea isn't food...

I presume he can socialize with his friends and acquaintances and get any updates at the celebrations, so while keeping his reports restricted to An Kona's instructions, that doesn't otherwise require tweaking.

Tar Billik isn't making furniture today: today is a celebration! He's getting ready for everything, helping set up bows to make a covered pavilion of sorts. The Iliphi-phili is happy to come and help him catch up with school though... Peter is her only student!

The Hunters are pretty happy to see Peter again.

The Crow shows up looking for more food from Peter. Or food in general.

So the "exclude everything that isn't what you want" trick is described for the detect advantage, where you can try again and again until you get exactly what you're looking for. With the spells there is an FP cost, so each new exclusion has a cost.

This also assumes she has tea and that she has enough to count as a "Significant Source"

Peter enjoys some time with his friends and is happy to feed his flying friend. He is tempted to shirk his educational duties, but he realizes he's behind where he wanted to be and puts in the time, grateful for Iliphi-phili's help.

Peter dreams of men standing at alert in vivid blue and red uniforms, their bayoneted riffles (or muskets?) held all at the exact same angle, drilling in a square.

He dreams of a magnificent dinner, with men sporting yet fancier uniforms and enormous mustaches, and women in old-style gowns. And yet the plates are of some strange dull metal.

He dreams of steam ships with paddle wheels in a harbor.

He dreams of a man applying a bandage to his arm...No, not just a man, but Kumar.
