I do think it's kind of odd that GCA doesn't have a built in "Ordinary Clothes-Free" item, since it's a piece of gear that most characters will have. It's not that hard to just enter 0 in the pop-up though.

Or use the _Free modifier, which will preserve the cost (if you care).

I just enter "0". Of course, I have to put in "worn" on one set, so I can seperate it for encumbrance purposes

There's also an arguable point that the blue-jeans-and-t-shirt look (w/out designer labels or etc. - purely functional) is Status -1 clothing, not Status 0. It's very common, but America idolizes many working-class professions and it's sort of a cultural quirk that this clothing style is endemic even among the middle class and into the lower-upper class.
And of course it's spread from America to many other places.
