Which cards can I discard?

If a card tells you to discard cards for some effect, can these be DxM or treasure cards?

In the general case, where you are told to discard a card, it means any card you have, whether it's in play or in your hand, except, of course, Curses that might still be affecting you. It doesn't matter what deck the card may have come from.

Now, if the effect is more specific than "discard a card," then you must obviously follow the more strict interpretation that the effect is forcing you to use.
