Technology makes a difference!
Going back to the 1970s, most people never even saw a computer. (I'm not counting on TV or in movies.) In the early 1970s, computers were extremely expensive, and were kept in closed, "environmentally controlled" rooms. But back to modern day. Let's look at the year from August 2021 to August 2022. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, "prices for food at home increased 13.5 percent, the largest 12-month percentage increase since the period ending March 1979." So games get much cheaper and food gets much more expensive. Hmm....

But that's an increase from the lowest percentage it has ever been. So from just under 10% to 11% or maybe 12% compared to 20% in 1950 which was a big drop from 40% in 1900.
