I loved this era of Pyramid. I still remember each Friday morning, logging in to see what was new that week. Printing the articles to PDF. Discussing everything online. Alas, I had to cancel my subscription before The End, so this is finally a way to get the full archive. Thank you so much for all the work. It's been wonderful to browse through the old content and get back to that old era. :)

There are several things I like about Pyramid. I'll name two.

1) Something of great interest to a specific group might not have enough audience to justify a full supplement.

2) Something of great interest to a whole lot of people might not be big enough for a supplement.

But both the above can work as an article in Pyramid!

I wondered when this announcement would bubble to the top of the Illuminator queue.

Buy it. It's worth the money.

Hello all.

Hate for my first post to be a complaint but really disappointed that the product description doesn't say that the Pyramid Classic bundle was included as well. I purchased that bundle at the same time.

Hopefully nobody else falls into this.

Thank you!

The fact that the collection re-creates the original online experience, complete with crosslinks and navigation features, adds a layer of authenticity that fans and newcomers alike can appreciate.

You might want to try checking the support page. While I've done a little work for SJGames, I was a customer for decades before that. They've been very helpful.

I hope this helps!

From my perspective, they're different things, honestly.

First, the material from the HTML archives are not complete as far as Volume 1 goes; for example, there are only a total of six articles (combined) in the HTML collection from issues #24-26. Similarly, #27 doesn't have any of the reviews (Pyramid Picks) from that issue, as best I can tell.

In addition, the presentations between the two are disparate; the Classic bundle is an attempt to recreate the issues as best we could as magazines, with ads, original formatting, page spreads, news, etc. You may not have any interest in (say) the letter column or news about the GURPS CD-ROM from Pyramid #28 (which is fair!), but that material not included in the HTML archives.

Thus, the Pyramid Classic bundle is a decidedly different beast from my perspective. Whether or not it's worth the money to buy the 30-issue PDF bundle if one owns or is planning to purchase the over-stuffed HTML archive, I can't really say, but buying just the HTML archive will definitely not get you the "complete" Classic archives or experience. And, regardless, we appreciate your support!

I hope this helps!

Thank you for the quick and thoughtful response. It's been influential on my thinking about the products as separate pieces. The Classic set is a premium product and has a nostolgia/historical research appeal.

I've been spending a lot of time thinking about different analogies. I especially enjoyed thinking about lovingly restored historical cars or deluxe boxed sets with all the bells and whistles. I realized that they were distractions from the matter. Sometimes a customer just wants to get a bare bones of transportation or the experience of the media.

Respectfully, I request that you please mention that some content from the first era of Pyramid magazine is included in the HTML set so that customers can make a more informed decision. Sometimes, people just want the bare bones rather than the premium experience.

Thank you.
