I don't think subtlety is exactly necessary any more. It seems obvious that Yi is the fated target now and Bel is off the chopping block.

Our Oath bond was to deal with each other honorably. If he has faked his death, I think that is clearly dishonorable and he is in breach. Any harm he visits upon us will be returned to him two-fold. This is could be why he avoided the oath to be denied his prize and then faked his death rather than attacking us when he caught on somehow that things were gonna flip on him. As he's oath breaking, he needs to avoid triggering the ramifications.

But it's all assumption. "Met your Quarry and let him escape" could mean it's Yi and he lives, or that Bel was disguised as one of his servants and we left them in the ground, or stayed in his house in the form of the peasant who did kill Yi after all... or maybe our real quarry was any of the fate-spinners we've spoken to in disguise. If we leave to investigate we may be leaving this place vulnerable, and if we do not we have no way of verifying anything we suspect.

Pang Zhen anticipated we would need more information, and she left us a few words, but they're not all that useful.

Unless Vassarious' latest divination attempt reveals something, they will agree with whatever Halcyone wants to do ...as long as it doesn't sound like an atrocity or war crime.

The portents say you on your fate. As to whether or not Yi is alive... you ask the question several ways, and sometimes its a yes, and sometimes its a no. This isn't Yi beating you somehow, its that fate itself seems confused about who or what you're talking about... or whether or not he is still alive.

Vassarious goes to the poshest of public places, once it is late enough in the day to do so gracefully, and strikes conversations of coming matters of importance and they try to find someone willing to assist them in obtaining an audience with the Ayya family.

Vassarious goes looking for something expensive to buy, and finds a whole shop of jewelers doing a thriving business. (He? She? What form is V in?) commissions a custom piece and chats with the sliver-smith while the icon is being made (its useful for divination... any preference on what its an icon of? a dead Chinese man? his missing gear? Celestial symbols?). V expresses a wish to meet with the great Ayya family as three of them just "Happen" to be in earshot, and they point themselves out, asking just what it is that V wants, and how far V came from without a formal invitation?

Vassarious will ask Halcyone... What should I wear? Vassarious shifts between several faces and builds.

A wealthy merchant, a powerful warrior, the wise woman... I'm thinking Mature, and we will want something beautiful.

They arrive at the form of a well muscled male warrior clad in the trappings of wealth and success.

Vassarious has a design that looks like to local equivalent of the symbol for infinity, that is actually a simple puzzle that breaks apart into pieces reminiscent of symbols for questioning/the unknown.
