Favorite GURPS release from 2013?
Greetings, all!
I'm curious. What were your favorite new GURPS releases for 2013? What I'd like y'all to do is pick your top five, and rank 'em in order (from favorite to fifth-most-favorite). In case you don't have all those titles memorized, here they are:
(And, as an aside, those are all 23% off from Warehouse 23 until May 3rd... along with the rest of our fine GURPS offerings!) To keep my sanity, go ahead and list them as such:
I plan on running other polls once we get another 2014 release or two, and I might even do an all-time GURPS poll at some point... but I thought I'd start small and see what insanity it brings forth. :-) Last edited by Steven Marsh; 04-29-2014 at 02:22 PM. |

Re: Favorite GURPS release from 2013?
I'd like to add that GURPS Martial Arts: Yrth Fighting Styles was useful for non-Banestorm GURPS in the fact that it's non-human fighting styles were damn awesome. I'd like to see more of that sort of stuff. GURPS Thaumatology: Ritual Path Magic is the top of my list, because...well, I've been waiting for it since 2011. It's probably one of my favorite books of all time. GURPS Zombies is just downright useful for all GMs running any sort of games - not just ones with zombies - plus, hey zombies. It's more than that though. It's a love letter to Zombie Fandom and a surprisingly useful guide for dealing and preparing for emergencies. I showed a couple of people I know who deal in disaster prep at one end or the other. The verdict was some of the emergency/preparation advice was solid gold. Pyramid #3/61 expanded cinematic combat in a way that is just downright amazing. Douglas came up with a system in GURPS Martial Arts: Technical Grappling that has further reaching effects than I think anyone quite realizes yet. It is highly technical (ahem), but it can be lightened quite a bit. It's very useful and my players like it. The Control Point mechanic is inspired! I love cinematic campaigns. As do my players. But that's not the reason I like Pyramid #3/53: Action, PK's "Fortunately I Saw This Coming" is...well, it's awesome. It suits my style of play so much it felt like he wrote it for me. It gets the 5th spot on that reason alone.
