I rarely drink whites that aren't from the Riesling/Alsace areas. If I do, it's often with people who like mixed grape commercial wines like the Rosemount GTR.

I don't like French wines, not on a budget anyway. The best are sublime, but for any given sum of money below $100 (if bought here), you get more value for money for a New World wine or even a Spanish or Italian one.

I'd be glad to. But it will have to wait at least five years, until I can take a month or two off and travel to Antipodea and New Zealand (maybe with a stop in South East Asia)

Colourful, is it? ;)

Bah, a lad with a healthy appetite needs no bear fat to stay warm! ;)

You'll get all sorts of unpleasant man-eating and/or otherwise harming critters there, won't you?

I can hope that the cold will make any creature who contemplates snacking on me lethargic enough not to bother.

My mouth has healed enough to have a calvados tonight. I predict fine weather for all.

There is a chance that worldcon 2010 will be held in melbourne. Last time it was there I decided that 2 weeks had to be enough. I strongly recommend not to go all the way at once, but to get out of the plane and into a real bed for a night somewhere on the way, I did it in singapore.

We had the fine weather yesterday, while today the weather looks to be still mild, but cloudy with possible rain in the afternoon. Hail KROMM.

Was there fine weather in Montreal?

I don't blame him. It must be rather rough on winemakers from other parts of the world when 'France' means 'good wine' to the vast majority of the unwashed masses.

Our balmy water still kills people who fall into it. Unless they've been good boys and eaten all their high-fat foods. ;)

I don't mind drowning, but I'd rather not be et.

I wanted to send the rain down toward San Diego. I guess I missed. :(

Well, we await Your next try.

I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to go about my business while I wait.
