I don't like French wines, not on a budget anyway. The best are sublime, but for any given sum of money below $100 (if bought here), you get more value for money for a New World wine or even a Spanish or Italian one.

There is a chance that worldcon 2010 will be held in melbourne. Last time it was there I decided that 2 weeks had to be enough. I strongly recommend not to go all the way at once, but to get out of the plane and into a real bed for a night somewhere on the way, I did it in singapore.
