Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
The foreign merchant attempts to negotiate prices and get an idea of what they are able to trade. Vassarious will make note of the Stone Melder's forms as well as several of these caretakers in case they can make use of their shapes later.

Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
But she does have pretty good defaults!
Halcyone notices scratches on the floor of the tunnel that seem rather fresh, and is able to confirm it with a little computer work (where is Halcyone doing all this remote stuff from?). A giant block of ice seems to have been dragged in, and also to have been dragged out. That's good for a +1 where clue. Go ahead and make a deduction roll. Quote:

Basically all of the items are for sale. The light stones you can buy in the market. The blocking device pieces are a bit more expensive, and everything else is beyond that. A few more items that are associated but probably aren't magical:

Vassarious will attempt to unlock more secrets from the artifacts if they are allowed to examine them closely or even to handle them.
They try to endear themselves to the knights and make all the observations they can about them and this place before thanking them for their time and heading to Uglin's speech. |

Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
I'm starting to get how good an IQ optimized character can get at, well, everything.
The room(s?) that she and V rented to stay in. Probably looks really out of it while resting in a chair. Quote:

Hm. I don't actually have lockpicking so I guess the point's moot. I have two unspent points; could I spend one now to cover that gap? |

Vassarious will try and hide that he can read the text, and remarks on the flow of the script, pretending to be appreciating it on an aesthetic level rather than reading it and trying to absorb as much as possible.
Faceman! to handle the book 3d6 <= 14 1 + 4 + 2 = 7 ... success Faceman! to pretend he can't read the text 3d6 <= 14 3 + 4 + 4 = 11 ... success |

The title of the book is "Principles of StoneWyrk" Its a text on how one of the magic systems of the dwarves worked, and how to construct and power magical constructions relying on it. It lays out various basic principles at the beginning, and then talks about some of the applications at the end. applications include moving stone, blocking the magic itself, creating communication devices, creating light, and a section at the end talks about "harnessing stone to an intelligence". Vassarious is unable to do much more than skim the book.

Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
As noted in OOC, done.
Well then I'll get sure about that. I'll get a few swarms repositioned so I can have a robotic lookout to while I pick the lock to the tunnel. I think I'll need two for both ends of the tunnel. I'll pick up a hammer to break the ice on the blocks, tools I need to pick a lock, and a few cords of rope, while I wait for the swarms to get into position. Then I'll slip into the tunnel and get to work. Quote:

Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
Vassarious gets an idea of the asking prices and his wiggle room as a merchant... Does he have enough funds to make a purchase? He would downplay it, but has an interest in the book... They hope the robo-bugs got a good view while they skimmed the pages.
How much time is there before the speech? |
