Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
Vassarious will cut the vine free for them if they see them struggling with it.
He has one of the enormous cucumbers in his other hand, and takes a great bite. "Perhaps you could use the bones of the armadillo as weapons? I could dress the animal. I'm afraid the magic that lets me have my weapons precludes me from sharing them." Have they eaten recently? Perhaps they should make a meal of the creature. |

Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
The cucumber begins growing back on the vine almost as soon as its picked. It takes about the length of Arlon's stop to grow back.
The armadillo bones will require some "Dressing", but Vassarious gets out some bones that can at least be used to block and deal bludgeoning damage. How many clubs does Halcyone get? Haley wants (and I assume gets) a club. None of the bones are long enough for Arlon to use as a staff. Haley and Arlon don't have magic spells for going through that sort of wall. Normally they'd say just chip it through or knock it down. Arlon suggests "This room" means the magical growing room, not the alcove.

I start tearing at the vegetation. It doesn't seem to regrow that fast, so maybe there's a way out of this.

Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
So a vertebrate will have .... twelve bones that can be used this way (three in each arm or leg), some thicker than others. There should be enough to go around.

But the digging quickly runs into dirt, and after dirt into hard stone, maybe three feet down. (the image of the ST 20+ Halcyone digging with as many hands as possible is really funny)

Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
Well now I feel foolish.
"OK, let's follow the brook and see if that leads to a well."

Vassarious Is content to follow the leader here... Part of the reason they wanted to gather a party of locals was the help with the legwork after all.
They are keeping an eye out for puzzles and hidden details (Encyclopedist! could help?) |

Re: Corco's Villa (IC)
Arlon Finishes recovering his energy much faster than he planned on: the bones are still being carved. He says this area in Very High Mana*.
The stream goes through a narrow tunnel, barely two yards high and as much across. The ground is covered in 2 inches of water and moss: Vassarius's strange legs continue to be useful. Arlon walks above the water, but keeps on ducking and crouching, watching out for the ceiling. The passage is 40 yards long, and lit like the last room. Three small tunnels lead to the left, one large tunnel to the right sloping up, and at the end the tunnel seems to open up and grow grass in a chamber you can't see well yet. Several (Haley counts 11) Colorful lizards 1 yard long cling to the walls of the tunnel. Arlon says "Manastones!" and points out glowing pits of rock infused with magical energy. *My bad on him asking to stop in the first place. but you got weapons out of it!
