Leon: "Just what do you plan to do? Why are you choosing the boy?"


Black Cloak: "Are you volunteering to go in his stead? Its a simple spell. No pain, no interrogation. I just discover what I know."


Leon seems to think for a moment. He looks at Rajat. Rajat looks at Ann. She looks at Peter.



Rajat: "I swear to you we have no knowledge of what goes on in this town. We stopped here because he (points to Leo) speaks Spainish. They welcomed us because of that."


Black Cloak: "Even so. Tie up the dog. And choose a volunteer"


Rajat gets a rope for Peter to do so. As they are fastening the Dog, Rajat whispers "We do not want these people reading our minds. At best, they will intern us as off-worlders. At worst, they will keep us prisoner for the rest of our lives, or wipe our minds, and then attempt to infiltrate homeline."

Peter leans in to his Honest Face and flashes a Disarming Smile

"I'll try, but he doesn't take to the rope..."


As Peter approaches Goliath, he gives him the hand signals to act aggressively while staying in place.

"His old owner was from Cardiel, sometimes this works"

He switches to the olde english his language spell taught him to adapt to fluently and changes his inflection to match Asad, who he picked up the tongue from... trying to establish a bit more of a connection to this place and hopefully make these guys believe he was not just dropped here in a storm.

"Calm down ye accursed beast!"

but gives the gesture to continue the snarling and barking, while at a safe distance from the interrogators, so they do not feel overly threatened, just see the 'potential danger'.

Peter turns back and suppons a look of fright and apprehension, and adds in pleading... trying to get these guys to decided this is more trouble than it's worth.

"Please, we're good honest souls... can't you just... I'll get him under control, just give me a minute to calm him. Please don't hurt him, he's a great hunting dog."

Peter will signal Goliath to stop the display and 'git' if they become aggressive with the dog.

Those rolls didn't go well... a 15. which is a bare success, but then they rolled a 9 on will.



"Ye have one minute to calm down yer hound then. And if he wakes up others, ye will loose him."


Rajat hissing in his ear again : "any other ideas? Do I need to setup to take them down?"

Peter is out of tricks unless he resorts to obvious magic and machete melee, which are not wise places to go.

He conveys this to Rajat with a

"A little help here?"

Rajat: "Setup to take them down. Got it."

so OCC, Rajat is very dedicated to keeping his secrets, and is willing to fight and even die for them. He'd also be all in favor of making a distraction and running for it, though you'd be up against horse mounted foes.

Peter is stunned by the turn of events. What momentous bad luck that this village should be scoured on the night they are passing through. And with the outworlders seeming to know what could happen, why would they be so dumb as to stay in the village? And they keep making Peter their first line of defense... are they testing him? They MUST have more tricks up their sleeves.

Peter is NOT willing to die for anyone's secrets, or to stab anyone either. He will run though.

Rajat: "Setup to take them down. Got it."

"I'm not going to hurt anyone. If you want to fight... good luck with that."

Yeah, luck does NOT work normally for Peter.

The outworlders were very much not prepared for a world that actively targets gunpowder. They came here through a lab accident.

Rajat: "If they read your mind, you will be their prisoner for a long time."

Assuming Peter reiterates he's not going to fight: "Then we need a distraction before we run. I can attack them shortly while the rest of you escape, but if you've got a better idea, I'm all ears. What about using that command magic?"

Peter looks at him like he has two heads. Is he trying to set me up? Is the jumper expendable? Peter wonders...

"your solution for dealing with guys looking for heretics and outsiders is to use alien magic? That would make me a great distraction, wouldn't it?"

There are three of the mind reader's group, is that correct? Are they all here? Did they come in to the structure where they were spending the night? Peter is ready to make a break for it.

Peter looks at him like he has two heads. Is he trying to set me up? Is the jumper expendable? Peter wonders...

Rajat: "In the short term, yes. But if you won't do the distraction, I will. I was just wondering if the guy who isn't missing all his weapons had better options than me. You don't have anything more subtle?"

Rajat gets ready to jump the men.

Yes, just three, and you have eyes on all of them: two are inside, one is just outside the door. you have two windows you can leave through.

Peter does not respond. Peter had gauged it at about 100%... It was the 'mindwiped or kidnapped forever' ramification Peter wasn't expecting. Maybe Rajat didn't pick up on that.

Peter has explained all his magic to Rajat, so he knows Peter has no 'more subtle' magic. (Yaka shield if they were using bows maybe?)

Peter tilts his head in a gesture to indicate... 'Everyone's attention is on the snarling barking dog. There is a perfectly serviceable Distraction is happening RIGHT NOW.'


Peter glances back... are the other 'homeliners' picking up that it's time to be ready to move?

Voice is a single word command and can only affect a single target, is that correct? How long does the effect last? Do you have write ups for the Yaka powers I can put in Peter's handbook thread?
