This is what, Peter's second real fight? I suppose it depends on how you split up the action at the Karana circle.

Peter tends to avoid violence to be sure... Even now he hopes he can calm or scare off the creature.

Peter does not approach with subtlety, he comes charging in with a

"HyAA! GIT! Get outta here!"

If there is space between the creature and it's victim, Peter will try and get between and separate them and attempt using his Call of the Wild to dissuade the creature.

If the creature is on their victim, he will just charge in telegraphically attacking with an armed charge pointy end first...

The creature looks up from its victim, turns around, and snarls threateningly... but its also not backing up. It's eying the dog next to Peter, cognizant of backing off the last time they met, wary.



The woman on the ground is has switched from screaming to sobbing and whimpering.


The beast decides that the big dog and boy with the stick aren't so scary after all, and moves slowly towards them.

What does the village's level of technology look like?

maybe late middles ages, maybe early modern. They seem too poor to really have a lot of cues to give more than that.

What does the creature look like?

Peter keeps his free arm waving and the tip of the stake moving but aligned with the creature to try and keep it off guard and distracted, hoping to stall for more back up... he repeats his commands to Goliath to speak as he slowly backs up.

Since the creature is following, he will try and draw it out of the house.

The two maneuver... the beast for position, Peter to get it out to the road. His maneuvering is successful... though he's not sure for how long.

The magical source unlike the church rushes towards them... a tall man in dark grey robes. He's holding an enormous crossbow, and pulls it up to aim down the street towards them -- Peter isn't sure exactly who the man is aiming at.

Peter takes a few quick lateral steps to clarify who the figure is aiming at...

"Don't shoot the boy... or the dog! We're friendly! Goliath, heel!"

Peter gestures for Goliath to get behind him while he defends himself from the creature.

He will help to subdue the monster if the opportunity presents itself.

Ugg, that's a GM error... no English.

The crossbow is fired, but the monster moves out of the way at the last moment.

As the monster closes in to attack Peter, Goliath springs out to bite it, but his jaws snap shut short of the beast (attack roll 14 when targeting face).

I take it Peter has some sort of wait that triggers when the beast rushes to attack?

The beast attacks Goliath with claws, but the Dog dodges just out of reach.


(Goliath went behind the beast for just a second, but there is no way that dog is letting something charge Peter)

He just took multiple steps, so let's call it an All Out Defense - Dodge and he'll retreat from the creature's attack.

He will follow that with a feint to try and keep the creature focuses on him rather than turning to Goliath.

Peter feints at the beast, but doesn't get any bonus from doing so. Goliath goes for an arm, but the beast pulls its limb back, and strikes with the other one, hitting Goliath hard (4 damage).

The man in the cloak has drawn his sword and is running towards them (5 yards away).

Peter commands Goliath to heel and get behind him.

What was the creature's maneuver?

Unless it does not have a defense, he will let the town's defender do his job and Peter will stay between Goliath and the creature and all out defend, then see to Goliath's injury when the danger passes.

Goliath, injured, is willing to let Peter step in front for now.

The creature made an attack maneuver.

Peter defends, and just barely avoids the monster's swipe (you didn't specify what sort of all-out defense, but your spear default parry is next to non-existant, so I'm assuming +2 to dodge).

the cloaked man rushes the beast from the side, swinging his sword wildly (move and attack). He gets lucky and hits, drawing a fair amount of blood. The creature turns tail and runs.
