Default How to talents affect Mining?

Rules for mining/tunneling in ITL. (ITL 71)

By these rules it matters if you have a pick or if you are a dwarf. But these rules do not mention needing or any advantage gained (or lost without) having the Mundane Talent of Miner. (ITL 36)

Also, the talent Architect/Builder give the ability to direct a mining operation in a siege, so does it help in any way when just tunneling without a siege? I would expect so. But how? (ITL 40)

The Architect/Builder talent appears to serve for constructing a mine, but Mundane Talent: Miner would confer knowledge of ore-rich rock and such. Add Business Sense and Mathematics for running the mine efficiently and creative accounting for tax evasion.

These are good points, but I think I'd also give an advantage in productivity to the character with Mining talent. Being a dwarf or one with mining tools gives a 50% speed boost to mining and these benefits stack. I'd give an additional 25% or 50% boost for the talent, just to make it worthwhile for a PC to choose it.

I'd put it the other way around.

Somebody who has Miner doesn't dig faster, but they are far less likely to cave themselves in.

You had a character with miner talent. Then, he went and became a priest. And then...

I was thinking about creating some miner NPCs. This thread helps greatly.
