Rhiannon knows surgery (not super well, but better than default). She's off in the swamp. That's it for the village. This sort of surgery is time consuming (takes an hour, basic page 424)*. Mortal wounds require a HT check or Physician check every half hour to avoid dying.

Thad reaches down to try and quickly grab the skull before it can turn and bit his fingers. (this is a grapple, so the penalty is only -4, not -7, see basic p 400. Its still not enough). He pulls back his fingers before he gets too close. The skull gnashes at his fingers, but can't move much.

Evaulate may serve Thad well here, as the skeleton can only twist a few bones about.

*awareness note: there are several other dead dying or wounded people present. Warchief Janden is just the most interesting.

Anoras (thinking): As much as I want to try to save Janden, I've done all I truly know how to do. If I try doing surgery, I will very likely fail, and meanwhile others may die. Hopefully my first aid was good enough to at least prolong Janden's life until Rhiannon can get here. I don't think Janden can hear me, but just in case....

Anoras (speaking): "All right, Janden, you're looking better than when I first got here. Now just rest until Rhiannon gets here."

Anoras walks away from Janden to see who needs help first. And she yells out.

Anoras (yelling): "Anyone who's not injured or otherwise busy, please help find Rhiannon. If you don't feel you can safely look for her yourself, please ask around."

Anoras looks to see who looks like they need First Aid the most.

Anoras notices that several people heard her request, but no one left to actually go get Rhiannon. (successful per)


Gricia, the potter, is wounded. So is Toren, the grainkeeper. Hira, the priestess and matchmaker is dead. All told, there are at least 30 people who need wounds bound and cared for. fortunately, the ability to bind wounds is common among the modern Haunden.


Go ahead and roll first aid four times for the four worst wounded you get to.

Survivors are trickling in from the woods... but mostly from the north and west. No one is coming from the south... despite people who say they saw people run that way.



Toren wants everyone counted... He wants to know whose missing. He says in maybe half an hour he will know everyone who is missing or dead. Right now he knows at least twelve who have been captured.



Toren: "We need them back."


Anoras knows(hidden lore) that occasionally captives return to thier homes as scorcerors, and its always a terrible time for their old village.

Thad steps back from the injured skeleton and plans his attack for a moment. Then he pounces, gripping the spine from behind and pinning the creature until he can pluck the head from the neck.

OOC: That's a 7 against a 16 Wrestling (including 3 Evaluates).

The prone (-3) injured (halve dodge) skeleton is grabbed. Your hands are still out of reach. It struggles to escape (resist with your wrestling or your ST-based wrestling against a margin of 4)



Please roll to pin (at +3 for size and +3 for more hands, p 370). Then roll to neck snap (its ST is 12, p 404)

Anoras (thinking): These people. Sometimes I just have to make things simple enough for them to understand.

Anoras (yelling): "If you aren't otherwise injured or doing something very important, at least look for someone who can go get Rhiannon. If someone doesn't get Rhiannon soon so she and I can figure out what mysterious things happened here, we could be attacked again--and it could be even worse! In the meantime, if Rhiannon doesn't get here soon, people may die."

(Anoras will use Fast Talk. I'm thinking she might get a bonus to her effective skill as she's not just talking; people can see the injured for themselves, and are probably already afraid of another attack. But of course that's the GM's call.)

(I'm guessing that, as they were mentioned, Gricia and Toren will be among the four Anoras treats with First Aid, probably the first two in that order. I did four successful First Aid rolls.)
