WHO can enhance an Item?

Can other player enhance your Item?
My son had just enhanced my Headgear, so it have me my highest bonus - and then took it with a curse :)
I think other players cannot equip me or enhance my items against my will.
Am I right?

The wording on Item Enhancers doesn't seem to limit them to being played on your own Items. I expect it's a pretty rare occurrence, but I'd rule it legal. Very Munchkinly to use it in this way.

The rules, from Munchkin 4 state:

Some cards are Item Enhancers. These must be played on an Item you already have in play; they cannot be played by themselves.

That single 'you' is doing a lot of heavy lifting. I may still revise the card wording.
