After Earthos and Gaia finished making the Elves, Dwarves, and Humans; Itazurako the eternal child, who for a bit of fun took his parent’s tools and brought them to his favorite sister Magra and played upon her curiosity to help him figure out how to use them, as a result Magra made the Gnomes and Itazurako the Halflings.
Being the creations of the god of creative chaos (and mischief) they are a jovial social race that a detests boredom. However this has are affected with wanderlust earning them the favor of Tavis the God of Travel and Trade. They -- especially after the warping deprived them of a land of their own -- prefer to live in family caravans as traders braving the perils of crossing monster infested wilderness. Their caravans are most welcome everywhere for the goods they bring to trade, as long as they don't stay to long as their pranks weary many and others view them as thieves to be watched. Though they do a have a few enclaves in other's lands; especial in Elven and Gnomish lands, though not unknown in Human Kingdom, and have mutual respect with the human horse nomads. However they have a mutual agreement with the dwarves that trade is profitable but neither wishes to live with the other, though halfling think the dwarves are the most in need of a good prank. Due to simalr portion adult halflings can often be mistaken for human minors though with out an active disgues this mistkan is normal noticed at closer looks. There were few halfling families within the protection of the Shield mountains when the Warping came so halflings races were hit hard by it. And from Halflings stock the warping produced Goblins. Goblins dispute the haven't become the dominate force in the warped land mostly they still are affected with wander lust and prefer the life of mercenaries, thought their pranks tend to be descriptive rather than merely disruptive, so don't tend to rule large sections of the warp lands themselves. villagese will often pay a tribute to a nearby goblan clan that reduaces but not elmatets the clan's raids on the village. Farlorn sees Goblins as the real success of the Warping and often favors his cult members among them. Halfling [-1] Attribute Modifiers: ST -3 [-30]; DX +1 [20]. Secondary Characteristics Modifiers: SM -2; HP +2 [4]; Will +1 [5]; Basic Move-1 [-5]. Advantages: Family Discount; Halfling Throwing Talent 2 [10]; Unfazeable [15]. Disadvantages: Chummy [-5]; Impulsiveness (12-) [-10]; Intolerance (Goblins) [-5]; Quirk (Wanderlust) [-1]. Family Discount is basically the Cheap Gear perk limited to the extended family of halfling traders, as long as it for personal use they're not out to make a profit on their own. Note: As publish Halfling Throwing Talent except exchange thrown weapon (dart) for Bola. I'm not sure if wanderlust is more than a feature. Moduldeoameni [5] Skills: Bola; Flail; Sling; Staff, . Techniques: Close Combat (Staff); Fast-draw(Stone); Fast-draw (Bola); Sweep (Staff); Targeted Location (Bola Thrown/Leg); Targeted Location (Staff swing/grion); Targeted Location (Staff swing/Leg); Targeted Location (Staff thrust/face); Targeted Location (Staff thrust/vitals); Attack From Below (Staff or Flail). Cinematic Skills: Throwing Art; Zen Archery. Cinematic Techniques: Binding; Pressure-Point Strike Perks: Grip Mastery (Staff) Optional Traits Secondary Characteristics: Improved Per. Skills: Throwing. I'm Thinking thank some type of "Attack from below" Technique would suit them, Part of Moduldeoameni philosophy is we're small, take what ever edge we can take. Goblin [-11] Attribute Modifiers: ST -3 [-30]; DX +1 [20]. Secondary Characteristics Modifiers: SM -2; HP +2 [4]; Will +1 [5]; Basic Move-1 [-5]. Advantages: Infravision [10]; Rapid Healing [5]; Resistant to Metabolic Hazards (+3) [10]; Teeth (Sharp) [1]. Disadvantages: Odious Racial Habit (Destruction of the Lolz) 3 [-15]; Impulsiveness (12-) [-10]; Intolerance (Halfling) [-5]; Quirk (Wanderlust) [-1]. Goblins still need more though. Due to the fact there are less halflings than goblins, Halflings now only speek their own language in private among themselves, so they are almost all at least bilingual speaking the Human language that has become the common tongue in the shielded-lands. Where as Goblin's dialect of the language has spread in the Warpedlands especially among the "Warped ones" (Anthro races that base races was an animals pre-warping) that did not originally have their own language.
As for The Goblins's style they are dominantly Warg riders So a Shield and Spear style? |

Just change out Riding (Equines) for Riding (Canines) and maybe trade out Broadsword for something more Gobliny.

So any ideas on a "Attack from below" type technique? Or the Wanderlust issue?

Definitely! IMO, the flail is one of those weapons that doesn't get enough love. Nice to see it as a core style skill. They're poor defensive weapons (especially the "improvised" ones like the Bola or Weighted Scarf) but their penalties on the target's defense are great for an aggressive style. They should also throw those Rapier-wielding DF Swashbucklers for a loop, requiring them to Cross Parry (at an effective -2) or Dodge to defend.
With the Goblins' small stature and use of flails and spears, Sweeping the leg would make a good technique. I could also see some Ninja-ish Halflings who use Kusarigama to Entangle, trip, then execute their prone opponent. Depending on how silly your campaign tends to run, expect a lot of under-the-shield groin shots too. =P Last edited by vierasmarius; 08-12-2012 at 11:49 AM. |

Attack From Below Hard Defaults to Any Melee Combat Skill -5. You are skilled at fighting opponents who are significantly bigger than you, taking advantage of a low angle of attack to get past your opponents defenses. As long as you are fighting an opponent at least 1 SM larger than you, and you target the lower half of their body (Groin, Legs, Feet, Knees, or Femorial Artery), your opponent will be at -2 to Block or Parry (but not Dodge). This technique is ineffective against foes who are crouching, kneeling, or prone, although they will take the normal penalties for those postures. [EDIT] As for Wanderlust, sounds like anything from Compulsive Behavior to a Quirk (doesn't like to stay in one place for too long).
