Excellent news on all fronts! Sorry about the extra costs and having to move... I know the "having to actually pack and move" thing is a big part of what's keeping me in a house that's had a roof leak for seven years...


(Landlord is fighting with her insurance over who has to pay for a new roof... meanwhile we tenants have a leaky roof and the is house slowly falling apart inside the walls.)

Those who are interested can read our local news for details, but briefly: We had an ice storm on April 5 that left close to 50% of Montréal and about 25% of Québec overall without electricity, in the process blacking out large swaths of our communications networks (telephone, Internet, e-commerce, etc.). We are now down to 2-3% of households without services, but there are fallen trees, crushed cars, and downed lines all over, and shortages at many stores. So, my customary Friday update didn't happen, and I'm in catch-up mode.

This is what will cause ongoing GURPS interruptions. We have a lifetime of stuff for two middle-aged people to move, which starts with sorting through it all, getting rid of some, and packing the rest. It'll be a long month with much less time than usual for work if we want to be ready in time.
