Hi!
The writers guidelines and the wishlist pretty much cover it.
However, systemless articles do appear in many issues and if you can fit the theme with an InNomine article that meets the requirements it might get through. Be a good idea to send tht query letter in first unless its really short though.

Thanks! I just wanted to make sure I didn't waste the group's time (even if an article would be "for practice").

I wouldn't try to do any In Nomine if I were you. Not yet. Do something GURPS-y first.

Again, fair enough. As it is, living in Colorado and Kansas this long is giving my brain some teasers about possibilities for the "Wild West" issue. :)

Sounds good (I'm a huge fan of the Western genre. ^_^).

Too bad that GURPS In Nomine has not been updated to 4th edition... Otherwise you might get away with a dual stated article ;) hint hint nudge nudge ;)

Of course, you could do a Monster Hunters/In Nomine crossover...

A couple of questions:

Both Pyramid and the e23 wishlists seem to work on word counts, how are tables handled in regard to this?

This is more e23 but: Would Alchemy and Enchanting (separate titles not a combined one) be Magic, Magical Styles or Thaumatology?

I'd so jump on this if I had the free time to do it. Or to write in the first place.

They aren't. That is, if you're paid by the word, you get paid by the number of words, regardless of how they're arranged. Tables can make page counts go all whacky, but unless your work is mostly composed of tables, number of pages isn't nearly as important as number of words.

Could be any of them, depending on what you're drawing from. If you're going to send in a proposal, have a position on the subject, but if it gets that far, you'll likely end up working that out with your editor.

Table's are tricky. From what I understand, the word count from the table counts, but tables can eat up page count quick.

Depends on what you are writing about. GURPS Magic: Alchemy would be Magic-style Alchemy. GURPS Magical Styles: Alchemy would be a bunch of magical styles about Alchemy. GURPS Thaumatology: Alchemy might be a more general treatise on the subject. Please keep in mind that SJ Games is very careful about who they let write books...you usually need to let them "get to know you" via writing articles in Pyramid first.
