The Heat section in the preview doesn't mention it, is boiling oil covered in Kitchen? I ask because as a short-order cook, the deep fryer is definitely an environmental hazard that can be used several ways against a foe, and a lot of restaurant kitchens will have them.

Also boiling oil is a traditional* thing to dump on castle attackers.

* And by "traditional" I mean "I don't actually know if it was ever really done, but I've read mentions somewhere".

Was done at least sometimes, although probably not as often as depicted in fiction. It would be a ferociously expensive weapon of war, but fantasy settings have lots of options for making it less so.

Hot oil is there. The author worked in a restaurant kitchen where old, congealed oil was removed by heating it up to make it liquid again and then draining it. He was in front of the drain when the machine experienced failure, and had both knees and his left shoulder deep-fat fried. He believes that 1d+1 burn is about right, because each hit averages 4.5 damage, which isn't quite enough to cripple an arm or a leg (though the potential is there), but three hits are enough to put you in the hospital with shock and have you off work for two weeks to heal.

I don't recommend reality-checking this to anyone.

For the curious, the stuff I've personally reality-checked includes Wham! (p. 6) when I was tossed head-first at a cast-iron radiator, Prickly Pests (p. 8) when I fell into an agave, Corrosive (p. 10) when I stuck my hand in nitric acid, Spicy! (p. 20) when I made sambal oelek and it got in my eye, Hot Liquids (p. 21) when I was deep-fat fried, and The Glint of Light on Broken Glass (p. 21) when I walked across nail-studded planks hidden in grass. I don't recommend any of it. I've worked with much of the stuff under C Is for Chemicals, E Is for Electricity, K Is for Kitchen, N Is for Nautical, Q Is for Quantum, T Is for Tools, and Y Is for Yuck, but fortunately never reality-checked how dangerous it was.

Is there E is for Explosions? Guess not. B is for Boom? I can vouch for that as something not to do.

I haven't read the book yet, but when I get to the sections covering all my injuries I can chime in... though I have no personal experience in sections M, O, Q, R, or X.

But yeah, I'm sure you've got something in every other section I've been injured by...

"O is for Ordnance", you know Kromm has you covered.

You'll find what you're looking for under O Is for Ordnance, most likely in Things That Aren't Supposed to Go Boom, or C Is for Chemicals, specifically under Explosive.
