I think that if the person asks you to autograph it, and then complains that you marked in his book - he doesn't really have a case.

On the other hand... you can apparently sue for the silliest things in the US...

Edit: Can Kromm make a rule so complex even he can't understand it?

To be fair, you can usually sue for silly things anywhere you happen to be. That doesn't mean you win the case.

But given the jury system, the US does tend to award damages in cases where other justice systems might roll their eyes.
