Desert? Oasis? The Arabian Nights are sounding more and more apropos. Uncomfortably, Chandra remembers that those stories also included harems, slaves and forced marriages.

But getting lost in an alternate India, even on a tourist world, might carry fates just as grim; she know those possibilities too well. And the Academy wouldn't be an option much longer, not with Gopal sure to blow the whistle sooner or later.

Home? She had to be practical. With the thousands of known worlds the Academy talked about and the greater number of unknown ones, her odds of finding her own world without training were infinitesimal.

Without training ...

Training, or trap?

Maybe it no longer mattered. Maybe a danger imagined was less bad than a danger becoming more certain by the day.

She hesitates. Looks Tereza in the eye. And then takes her hand.

Tereza gives Chandra's hand a squeeze and takes hold of Illios' hand saying, [Arabic] "Let's go."

OCC: wow, how exactly does this work? computing....

Illios bows back to Chandra, and smiles and the foreign tongue. Which probably was a much likelier option than English, though sanscrit would have been more likely.

Illios: "English? No? I've never heard of English. Not even in legends. Did you mention it earlier? It didn't seem to stand out from your list. I know a tiny tiny bit of Greek -- does that help?"

Tereza attempts to leave the dream and take Chadra with her. The dream jolts, and tereza feels pressure mounting in her head. They see images of a broad, brown landscape with lots of bare rock, hard packed earth, and scrubby plants. small piles of snow dot the land, and the mountains in the distance have proper white caps. Deer things with strange looking horns graze on the dead plants.

Chandra feels extremely disoriented, like she is being shaken. The distracting pressure in tereza's head keeps on building.

Illios, who doesn't seem to be feeling any of these effects, mildly asks : "Where are we?"

[Arabic] "I'm not sure. Did you try bringing us to your families dreams. That was the plan wasn't it? You take her and I to your family then I try to bring us through to the waking world."

When the wave of vertigo hits, Chandra's first reflex is straight from her medical training: after a few moments of disorientation, she fixes her eyes on one of the mountain peaks, moving her head slowly from side to side. Movement means improvement! she still remembers one of her professors emphasizing, with a slap of the lectern.

I rather doubt Dr. McReynolds was anticipating a situation like this, however! she thinks for a moment.

Once her stomach has settled, she lets herself actually see the landscape instead of just trying to use it as an anchor point. Wherever this is, Arabia it clearly is not.

"Bit of a rest stop?" she asks dryly to the two Arabic-speakers. "There seems to be a distinct shortage of lunch choices."

Her normally iron stomach rolls from another aftershock. Perhaps she shouldn't have mentioned lunch.

(OOC: Based on the text above, Chandra is attempting either a First Aid or Physiology roll to try to aid her recovery from the disorientation.)

Illios: "I did nothing. I need you to go back first. That was you."

The head pressure continues to build. Chandra tries to manage her nausea. It at least doesn't get worse. This dream is fading into something else...

Tereza will do her darndest to get the group to Sultan as she's come to think of it.

[Arabic] "Well that's not good. You sure you can't bring to a family member's dream?"

When Chandra feels the sensation of departure, she closes her eyes and tries to go with the feeling as best she can. She doesn't know if this is from Tereza, herself, the strange Arab, or even a summoning from Hailey's people, but she's been working toward this too long to turn it down now.

OCC: When's the last time each of you burned your serendipity? Otherwise everyone will dump out in the current dream -- which will be most inconvenient.

OOC: My last use was when the boys were tracking Haley. They just happened to get suspended for their latest prank and got distracted. So it's been a while.

EDIT: Here's the link where she invoked Serendipity, in case you need to check elapsed time. http://forums.sjgames.com/showpost.p...&postcount=131
