Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
Fair enough. Combined with her Nightmares disadvantage, does that mean an awful Luck roll could send her somewhere she really doesn't want to go?

OOC: As she sleeps, does Chandra dream at all, either before or after Tereza vanishes?

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
And as she watches that slowly shutting door a hand extends into view, grabs the door, and throws it open. As the door opens a figure reveals itself to be Tereza who's got something of a small frown and a rather handsome middle eastern man. [Arabic] "After you've trained some nightmares should be a thing of the past. Now let me introduce your new teacher. Chandra, this is Illios. Illios, Chandra. I hope you both become great friends. Now I want to get back to here tonight if I can so I don't miss training so let's get a move on. Sorry for being abrupt and not sticking around. I'd like to become friends with you too but I will come and visit later if you're still with him," says Tereza.

Illios: "Wait, what? You're not leaving me here are you?"

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
It's a lot for Chandra to take in at once. First, the beginnings of a nightmare whose origins she can all too easily guess. Then, the intrusion of this odd Tereza into her dreams -- her dreams, for goodness' sake! -- without so much as a by-your-leave.
She intimated this was possible, but I never truly considered the implications. How much more of my mind can she see? Memories? Secrets? That could be more than uncomfortable. And then there's this -- Arab, maybe? -- introduced so blithely by Tereza, a man who's clearly as uncomfortable in this setting as Chandra herself. Maybe more so. Could this be an elaborate trap? And what the bloody hell is all this jibber-jabber anyway? "Just one second," she asks before Tereza can vanish (hopefully). "Does Mr. ... er, Illios? ... speak English? Or at least possess a calling card?"

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
Tereza relies to Chandra with, [English] "Speak English? I don't think so. And now I'm guessing you don't speak Arabic. Well that'll probably slow things down a bit. Fortunately he shouldn't have much trouble picking it up from you. You should still try to pick up Arabic yourself though. So you can talk with normal people and stuff there. Plus I've found it's spoken in a number of places."
To Illios, [Arabic] "You don't happen to speak English do you? It seems she doesn't know Arabic. If not at least you shouldn't have much trouble picking it up from her." OOC Oh and I forgot to mention they appear to be dressed in fancy silk pajamas a few posts ago as they made their entrance. |

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
"If I may ask, what exactly constitutes "there?" Chandra asks, trying to keep her manner restrained rather than bewildered. "From the look of things, it might be either the court of Sheherazade or the living room of Hugh Hefner."
With her politest manner, she bows to the foreign gentleman -- it somehow seems more suitable than a handshake "I am Chandra Morgan," she says, slowly and clearly. She briefly switches to Hindi on a gamble, remembering the Muslim populations on the subcontinent. "Is this language any clearer at all?"

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
""There" is his family's palace at an oasis in the middle of the desert. You can ask him more about it when you're there.
Now if you'd be so kind as to hold my hand I should be able to take you along for the ride like I did Illios to here. In fact getting back should be even easier as he can just take us to a dream of one of his family members. From there I bring you to the real world there and then I'll be off to back here after I fall asleep again. The more time we spend talking here the tireder I'll be come tomorrow as I'll have less real sleep." |
