Ryan: "They think any governance system that isn't completely centralized is unstable and doomed to implode. They've yet to prove this applies to a world-spanning system, and they've never really given us any evidence to analyze that way. And they haven't shown their way won't implode either."

Woman: "No, we haven't accepted worlds as equals. We have some sense and caution, and not near the time they have. There are a few worlds that might be close, but the ones who ARE equals are dangerous and warlike, and the others we are slowly bringing up to the political stability peaceful state that we could invite them to join."

Woman: "We invaded Centrum? We invaded their sphere of political influence, if that's what you mean. We first found out about them when they started kidnapping and Murdering our people."

[Talosian]

Elijah sits back with a sigh, rubbing his temples. Well, I've sure found myself in an awful mess now. Almost makes me miss running through the jungle without any pants. He looks around at the Secundans, lingering on Ryan longer than the others. These people are from my world, more or less, but the Centrans have been helping me. Any - or all - of them could be lying to me. But if I have to pick sides, I should takes Ryan's. Well, other-Ryan's. Elijah comes to a decision. Aw, man. I'm so gonna get shot. "I want to help you, but I need a plan," Elijah says as quietly as possible.

(Two questions, how close are the Secundans to where the Centrans are sleeping? And two, did both of the Bar-Gas canisters get fired, or only one? :D And actually, I meant to ask if the fabulously convenient Bar-Gas was thanks to the magic of Serendipity.)

The various group members look at each other

"We did make a deal." One of them says. "It could be best to take our chances at getting away there. I don't know how much better our chances are here..."

Ryan: "Really? The world was chosen because they thought we couldn't get off it, and who says they'll keep their deal?"

Serendipity is still active. One canister was fired.

[Talosian]

Keeping his voice low, Elijah says "I can't make a decision for you, this is up to you. If you want to try, there's a second round of Bar-Gas I think I could get my hands on. Nobody has to get killed."

Woman (leader it seems): Give us some time. They aren't leaving tomorrow. We'll work it out. Don't let them know you talked to us. Thank you for the offer."

[Talosian]

Elijah will finish the rest of his watch, wake up whoever is next, and try to get some sleep.

(It'd be tragic but hilarious if he jumped.)

Elijah walks away from the tent, and is looking at the fire when the smoke begins forming a shape ... He's not sure what, but it looks vaugly human....

"Lost"

The voice seems to be coming from the fire.

[Talosian]

Elijah flinches away from the fire and throws his hands in front of his face, startled by the voice. Hyperventilating slightly, he fans his fingers and peers through them. What the s**t? That's not natural. That couldn't possibly be natural. What the s**tting f**k? Wait. Did it call me Lost? He lowers his hands slightly, and looks more closely at the smoke, "Um, yes?"

(Elijah once again making great use of his vocabulary.)

lost is the hero to save them
lost is the Omen I have sent them

and are you not lost?

Elijah is surprised no one else has heard this and expects it will wake someone up. .... unless only he can hear it.

Elijah blinks, totally blown away by the smoke figure. He lowers his hands completely, and steps a little closer, speaking quietly, "What are you? How am I supposed to help the Dog tribe? The only things I've learned is that they might be over hunting, but that doesn't help them where they are, and if I tell them to go south*, I'll be sending them into a tribal war with neanderthals." Elijah inspects the smoke figure more carefully while speaking. What the hell... Wait, could this be the fire mountain that they kept going on about? Is that even possible? Elijah frowns slightly and rubs the bridge of his nose. I'm in an alternate world with cavemen and dinosaurs, caught in a war between two world travelling civilizations, but supernatural spirits sound implausible? This is all so ridiculous.
