Default Cumbersome gadgets

In a fantasy campaign still under planning I'm considering using the 'Magic Items as Advantages' rules from Thaumatology. However, I'm planning to feature magical items that are not really portable, e.g. a throne. There will also be smaller more portable versions of said magic items, but they are supposed to be rarer and more valuable.

If the only difference between these items is the 'Can be stolen' limitation, the latter items will actually be cheaper, which doesn't seem right to me.

I'm considering adding the 'No Legs (Portable)' disadvantage to the item, but would love any other suggestions.

I think you want to look at Accessibility as a limitation on the non-portable versions.

GURPS Supers has a bunch of stuff on headquarters, there might be something useful there.

Checked it out, and while I got a bit excited when I found the section called 'Apparatus', it only seems to cover mundane equipment for headquarters and not gadgets. :(

(Gadget: Size, SM 0 or more, -25%) as the base, disregarding the "or more" portion and following the same progression:

Gadget: Size, SM 0 or 1, -25%
Gadget: Size, SM 2 or 3, -30%
Gadget: Size, SM 4 or 5, -35%
... etc ...

Now, SM can be converted into weight: (Take height in yards, divide by two, cube the result, then multiply by 200 to get weight in lbs.) (per Space, pg 151), and so weight can be used as a "Gadget: Encumbrance" limitation following the same pricing as "Gadget: Size".

Nice and elegant, and I'm hitting myself for forgetting about the Size modifier of Breakable...

I wouldn't increase the limits for sizes above SM 0, as the cap implies that the ability to more easily spot or hit larger gadgets isn't worth any more points. Maybe you could just add a Nuisance Effect (Cumbersome), or something of the sort.
