Illuminati 2nd Ed: Privileged attacks
We played Illuminati 2nd edition for the first time and we had a debate about how privileged attacks work. The way we played it, the attacker declared the attack as privileged, and only the targeted group could contribute MB for its defense. That is, the defender’s own Illuminati group couldn’t contribute MB. But after the game, we got to talking and decided that the defender’s Illuminati could help. Privilege only prevents other players from interfering. Right?

Checking the rules:
https://sjgames.com/illuminati/Illuminati-Rules.pdf Privilege prevents other players (i.e.: players other than the attacker and the defender) from interfering in the attack. The defender may always defend as usual.

That's what we figured. We re-read and re-read the rules but still had doubts, but we figured that made the most sense. Thanks for confirming.
