On the other hand, if it does so by speeding you up, you need to buy other Advantages to simulate that.

I think this has been brought up before, and the consensus was that it was a special effect whether all of your equipment runs faster or not. However, it had to be consistent: If your gun's mainspring runs at your subjective speed, so does your watch (which not only might make telling objective time difficult, but also means buying batteries more often), and so does the fuse on the enemy grenade you just picked up to throw back.
