Yeah, the Vutu are pretty weird. Julian might have a different take, but he's met more in the way of alternate physiology. Though their environment and Tech are really what make them different, not physiology.


Leon leads the group towards a village, heading towards the church. The priest says a few words in halting english, then Leon switches languages, and the two start speaking rapidly together. It sounds like spainish. They hug and embrace.


Leon: "This town is spainish: its a relative latecomer to the world. They're happy to help a fellow countryman. The priest will find a place for us to sleep in the village."


Leon: "I told them we are from Araterre. The islands to the east. We're trying to make it to Tedroy to find a business associate who has gone missing"


Ann: "close enough to the truth, I suppose."

"I've more than considered it. I got a few lessons from some Army guys from America, and some while I was doing Yaka training. but I think it's a better goal to learn more ways to not have to get into a fight. I am learning, but it's not like I can bring a weapon with me when I travel."

Based on the original description I interpreted them as much more alien in appearance and general feel than anything he's encountered. Fully embracing them right away just seems like it would be bad roleplay, even with broad-minded. People don't have an easy time getting along with the very new and different.

Peter will pick up spanish with his magic if his reserve is full, and if it is not, he will do it when they get access to a fire.

Peter will pick up spanish with his magic if his reserve is full, and if it is not, he will do it when they get access to a fire.

He's got a full reserve and can follow all the conversations.

Ann: "I'll hook you up then. Once we get back to Paralabs."


Peter doesn't dream that night. Perhaps because something woke him up. Some form of magic. Its very dark still. But someone is casting a spell in the village.

Peter will follow his magic sense and see where it leads him, curious as to the source.

Is he able to make any kind of analysis?

but rolled an 8 on stealth


Peter creeps out through the village following the magic. Soon after the first spell is cast, a second one is cast as well (analysis roll is 10 this time) ... this one is somewhere between the commands of Yaka and the bond between a Karana creature and its master. But involving humans. Or at least people. Its coming from one of the larger houses in the village. Peter notices three black horses outside of it. One of them has a black -robed figure on it, the other two are empty.

Peter will keep a lookout for the other riders and observe the black robed figure... Seems like something sketchy may be going on and Peter doesn't want to get involved when he doesn't know the deal.

Two more figures step out of the house and get on their horses, and go to a different house. They cast that first spell again, then a spell that moves something. Then one of the riders goes inside and casts the second spell again... he still doesn't understand that one (rolled an 18 ... further attempts to understand will require actually observing the effects because critical failure)
