(IC) Lost In Dreams [Peter]

"They won't do anything to change the Porba. They'll go along with all the things the Porba do and say they're grateful to the Porba for the life-force they work hard for."

"Something tells me things might be different here. I'm not sure if there are other tribes with your language you can talk to... When your people catch up, I will tell them you can stay with me if you want to."

As they gain in elevation, they come to a good vantage point: Peter can see the tipped conveyor on the next beach. The Vutu chasing after them has caught up enough to shout. "Peter! Torzuchi! Wait for the rest of us!"

Peter yells back,
"Catch up! I probably need help, I found the people I'm trying to save!"

Peter rushes to the conveyor to see if it can be righted or dug out. He bangs on the side a few times.

"Are you guys okay In there? I'm here to help!"

If he cannot right it, he will look for a lever or anything that might help him dig them out and wait for the others to catch up and try and get their assistance.

She doesn't have anything to say to that.

Peter yells back,
"Catch up! I probably need help, I found the people I'm trying to save!"

Nicely played. The Runner keeps up until he sees what Peter is pointing to, and then stops running so hard. He stops in sight of where he can see Peter and the girl though.

Peter rushes to the conveyor to see if it can be righted or dug out. He bangs on the side a few times.

"Are you guys okay In there? I'm here to help!"

If he cannot right it, he will look for a lever or anything that might help him dig them out and wait for the others to catch up and try and get their assistance.

Shoving the conveyor doesn't change anything: its very heavy.



There is a delay before he gets an answer after yelling, something like 15 seconds.



"We're alive! For now! Get us out!"


Peter has a machete, which is a fine tool for digging in loose sand. This beach also has some (12) pods and some of the wrecked shacks, with the (presumed) owners (8) of the shacks sorting through them. Getting a fairly long pole from the wreckage isn't hard, if he goes that route. The people going through the shacks are surprised to see Peter and Goliath and wave.

"Peter shouts out to the people, Hey, there are people stuck in here! Please help!"


"Torzuchi, if you open those pods, maybe you can find more of your tribe and start another group.. maybe trade for your other people if you have the right mix."

Peter will use all the people and resources he can muster to help free the pana-chronauts. He digs out a hole for the pole to get in deeper and hopefully gets some help righting the conveyor.

"Some people da stuck in da crate?"


On hearing this news the men scrounge up their own beams and all come over to help. On the count of three, everyone pushes, and the conveyor rights itself with a great crash.


Peter notices one of the scroungers (an older woman) has started a cooking fire high up on the beach, where the vegetation starts again.


Torzuchi inspects some of the pods, and then opens one and steps back, and starts talking. Then she and whoever got out go to additional pods.



Peters helpers start to gawk at both the Vutu coming towards them, and the ones getting out of pods.

Correct, he does not have penetrating voice... He was just average shouting. Penetrating Voice might be a nice bit of color to add since gaining his Yaka Voice.

Yeah, its a good fit for Peter, if he finds the points. I was thinking of the benefits of puberty...

I thought he might want fire for languages actually, and asked myself if its around ... I swear I did not intentionally make most his magic revolve around lighting a fire!

Peter keeps a side-eye on this situation... We may have two factions soon....

A cheer goes up. The door gets stuck, and then someone says "One moment": Peter saw a flash of an eye. Then the door opens up, and three people come out. They are wearing modern clothing: Full jackets and long pants. They look prepared to be outdoors for a while. Peter can't see any official insignia or weapons-- or bruises.



another cheer goes up as they come out.

"You da be owe we da drink!" someone shouts, and there is a third cheer.



One of the folks from the conveyor speaks: "Hello, and Thank You! We are all indebted to you for your aid, and will do what we can to repay you. My name is Leon."
He gestures to the man next to him "This Is Rajat."
He gestures to the woman "And this is Ann"


Rajat and Ann both some somewhat distracted, studying their surroundings, but are cognizant enough to wave and smile. Ann seems to be taking in the land, buildings, and clothing, while Rajat is tracking the people.


Leon: "I'm actually not sure where we have washed up. Where are we?"



"They call me Tall Man" the largest of the helpers says. "That is Tony, Dandras, and Marvin. This be Dennry, in Lucia."

Eh, it might be colorful, but not terribly useful. Points are pretty precious...

He seems to be communicating okay... so he was very focused on the conveyor.

Peter has been teaching himself to make cinnamon and smoke to compensate for that particular limitation. I don't feel too guilty that it's a little cheesy.

"Pleased to meetcha! I don't know what they call this place. I'm not from here either and I forgot to ask. Some people I met assumed I was from Earth, so they must call this place something else. They said lots of worlds were 'touched by the banestorm', so who knows? Does your conveyor need to be set up for the world it's on for it to leave? They say they have goblins and dwarves and stuff here if that helps. It's a good thing you guys are here... how many can the conveyor hold? Looks like there a lot of people that could use a lift home."

Once Everyone is introduced, Peter will suggest they go find the locals.

"I'm sure they can tell you more!"

Peter will go to the fire first and acquire the islander's native tongue to make communication clearer. If anyone asks what he's doing he will let them know and offer to give people the Vutu tongue or English to the Vutu or whatever people want.

I don't find it cheesy at all. Its working with the limitations and tools given. And you're using Godly powers to create that smoke, so having it be legit just makes sense. Also, 10 ER is not a trivial cost (did we get it down to 9 at some point? you'd probably rather have 11 ER)

Leon: "Ok, you know what a conveyor is, but you don't have one. Just how did you get here? How long have you been here? What division are you with? We're with Paralabs. Mostly. Me and Rajat are on loan from the penetration service."
Ann: "As you don't seem to know it, this is Yirth. Its a quantum Sargasso. We can't get off via conveyor. We CAN get off, if we can make it to the right location. If that location is still where they run things. This is a bad world to land on."

Niether has Ben specified, but Peter's nightly(osh) mediations combining the different Thumatology/Karana patterns he has learned and integrated were said to be increasing his ER.

"I dreamed about this storm and it sort of grabbed me. It was not quite like the usual way I get around. I'm kinda what you guys call a jumper, but I do it in my sleep. I've only been here since this morning... In my dream I saw your conveyor overturned, so I came looking to make sure you guys had air. I kinda get these visions about the place I'm ending up, or maybe just about the storm this time, I dunno... but I got almost all my dream stuff sorted. I still need to make sure some guys in a boat are okay, then it's on to find a god from another world who's here... His being here might be why my dreams brought me to the storm in the first place... long story.

My world doesn't have conveyors, but I met some guys called the Miracle Workers who use conveyors like yours. You have a way out but it's not with a conveyor?"

Peter stifles a laugh at "penetration service" then turns and looks at Ann and proceeds to turn a fierce red with embarrassment at his unspoken comment...
