Re: Real-Life Weirdness
It's older than that - according to the ever-reliable Wikipedia, Hans based his story on one published in Spanish in 1335, and there's a very similar story as early as 1283. I suspect it's very nearly a timeless story.

Surely there is adventure material. What can we do with it? (Beside a new stealth powered armour for Traveller's emperor Strephon).

Re: Real-Life Weirdness
Neptune has been photographed in storms on both sides of the English Channel, Newhaven, Sussex and Lesconil, Brittany. At least he's not taking sides in a renewed war between England and France. Yet.
Pray to the old god of your choice that your team can stop him before there's another Percy Jackson sequel. Unless they're supposed to aid him in stopping the real BBEG. |

Re: Real-Life Weirdness
No finger holes drilled in them. So, they're brand new, not something someone had bought, or the public balls from a bowling alley somewhere.
Obviously, in your game, the balls must have been filled with drugs or gold or unobtainium (whatever suits the genre) for the sake of smuggling. But these don't look like they had holes or a way to hollow out the middle. So, there must be an even stranger method in play to hollow out the balls and transport the contraband inside. Gate magic? Transporter beam? Reaching through the fifth dimension? Two-part disintegrator ray that only affects things where the two intermodulated phase beams intersect? Portable hole painted on by a coyote and peeled back off? Last edited by Anaraxes; 07-11-2021 at 09:34 AM. |
