Also works for any RPG that uses squares instead of hexes.

Someone in Virginia is shaving cats.

Why?

The jokes just write themselves, but probably not on this site. :o)

So that's why no one can understand cultists? They're taxi drivers. Cthulhu must make bank on trips with taking years to go across the street by way of "non-Euclidean space".
(I know that non-Euclidean is not a synonym for interdimensional travel, despite it's use as such in Lovecraftian fanfic. But it's just so much fun to say.)

My first thought was multi-dimensional world hopping where you can't just jump directly. 2, 3, or more directions of movement, but still "blocky" like a chessboard.
I suppose that's also true for Traveller style travel by way of jump units.

I hate to see what happens when they grab a cat like our previous kitty named Fireball. Her name was quite accurate when annoyed.

I am not sure what you mean by cultists. If you mean members of obscure religions suspected of being deceived by a power-hungry heresiarch yes I can understand them as they are seeking answers. If you just mean people with eccentric interests well I can understand them as I have eccentric interests too.

I meant cultists from Lovecraft writing and speaking insane gibberish.

In other words people with an eccentric hobby. OK I understand them, I have eccentric hobbies. That's just not my eccentric hobby as it happens.

Or do you mean literally, "understand what they are saying", probably not. I assume that is the intention.

I'm pretty sure the actual intention was communication - which is difficult with a person who's had a brush with Lovecraftian beings, as they're often suffering badly from Word Salad including a bunch of words from non-human languages which may or may not be invocations of Elder Things.
