Bain takes note of Telrith’s accounts and replies:
Thanks for the insight, friend... Bain remains meditative for a moment and asks Telrith: Why did the elementals refuse your call? As Telrith or the others make their remarks, Bain readies his camouflage (17) 13 and prepares to stealthily (16) 9 move about the corridor. He holds his amulet and comes up with a plan:

The holy spell goes off and helpfully reveals the cave before the adventurers in a welcome panorama of illumination. It matches what the shadow elf hireling reports - signs of a fierce battle at an intersection just 5 yards forward. She recommends holding a cloth over your mouth and nose, the awful stench is thick.
Bain's sharp scrutiny discovers no active mechanical threats set up to snare explorers like himself and his comrades. The hacked remains of a heavy net lies mixed with shattered bones and several large dried bloodstains (slightly darker than human blood). There are small dark hooks screwed into the ceiling and broken strings at ankle-level. Whatever traps were placed here, they got their workout and were not reset. The bones appear to be human, old and dry. There's a tunnel to the north, partially obscured by massive cobwebs swarmed with dead flies. Another tunnel (massively stained with dark blood) goes to the east, taking a turn south and then east again. To the west, yet another tunnel but this one is short and straight (and battle scarred in a way that suggests a fighting retreat), leading into a large square room.

Comrade, why dont u simply bring the torch closer? (´・ω・`)It kills the spiders and removes the webs, it also cleans the place a bit(*´ω`*)

The north passage, once the webs are removed, looks clear.
It quickly turns to the east, then going straight in that direction. No lights in the area means the passage looks rather dreadful. What lies ahead..?
