Guess it will be even weirder once I start doing the full worldbook (right now, NewGameMaster and the central books for TAYDS need handling, but I feel compelled to start doing some research on the full Reich-X book before Christmas) :-D

It's a bit scary that you tried it, too, though. We talked specifically on why I chose to publish [url=www.lulu.com/tayds]NewGameMaster and TAYDS[/i] on my own rather than do it through e23, and that bit of posting (to make a long story short) was my latest reason. Due to the interest Reich-X has gotten here in the forum, I am still swaying between offering the upcoming worldbook through e23 and doing it on my own. I am now tilting to 'on my own', but still.... would be cool to actually get something published through e23. Plus, Ze'Manuel won't respect my work as 'professional' until I get official recognition :-D PS: What did you offer to write for them?

I wrote the initial outline that formed the basis for the "official" outline for the Fantasy Folk volumes. I was all ready to write GURPS Elves, we were up to the point where I was told I would be getting the contract... so I started writing.
Over a week past and I had no contract yet. I e-mailed and asked about it; in that e-mail I had some questions on how much of the original GURPS Fantasy Folk text from the 4-page Elves section I could lift. No answer. I waited a few more days, and e-mailed again -- this time with a couple of other quesitons I needed answered as I continued to write. I e-mailed a couple more times over the next couple of weeks... no answer to anything. Then I stopped writing, and sent one last e-mail indicating that I was stopping until I got word from them, as I had no formal indication that I was actually working with the company any longer. That was what happened. It saddened me, but I am still a huge fan of SJG and the staff of that company and I am sure a logical, reasonable explanation exists. I just wish I could get some communication from them that would provide that explanation to me... until then, I will keep working on my own projects for my little small-press company -- Jagged Edge Games. |

...and shortly after that, he fell off the board. Entirely sad.
