Just in case there's anyone out there who's good and art and has nothing better to do I thought i'd start this thread where people could post their character descriptions and email and have a picture of their character done for them. I find it helpful to work from a picture if i'm making a character and having a physical representation of them could help a lot of people flesh out their characters personality and improve the experience of RPing.
I'll put my character in here if anyone actually replies. |

Normally doing a portrait for someone is a commission job. It's one thing to noodle around and make a picture of some cool dude, it's another thing entirely to capture someone elses concept. One is "a hobby", the other is "the day job".
Don't let me discourage you re: this thread, but moderate your expectations. It's sort of like popping up in a builders forum and asking if they don't have any thing to do, would they like to help you put a wall up this Sunday?

Toss me an idea, and I'll see what I can crank out. It ill be done in my off time, when I'm bored. But i can give it a shot.
Now, I don't have a scanner or intuos anymore, so it'll probably be a picture taken of the sketch, but, hey. There ya go.

I got a piece of software from an Indiegogo project: ePic Character Generator.
If this is something you do frequently, it might be useful. It does tokens for virtual tabletop too. I suppose it'd be really cheap for a group to invest in. Edit: the basic package appears to be free. My package is limited fantasy human but it can be expanded. It reminds me of Oblivion or Skyrim* - pick skin color, eyes, hair, tatoos, clothes. Suits me as I'm no artist (CSE Art grade 3 or GCSE E). *And Zoolander:)

I used to do a good deal of character portraits and will still do commissions on request. Here are a few characters I've drawn for my own campaigns and for other people:
Fala and Dent Sword Gal Nils and Sylvia Ford and Broadstead
