Does a new thread require moderator approval now?
I just tried to start a new thread and saw a message that flashed by a little too quickly to read (I may've hit ENTER too many times?) but which seemed to say the thread would appear once the mods approved. Is this a new thing? Thanks.

In general no, however if enough words attract the attention of a filter bot it may get sequestered until a mod can look at it.

Short version is if you use enough words that are similar to the most common forms of spam post it will get flagged for moderator attention. Most of the time this catches actual spammers, but every now and then a legitimate post gets caught and has to be manually approved by the mods.
