Neutralise
I quite liked Avatar (the legend of Aang or Korra). So I thought the pressure point hitting to black powers was cool.
IIRC in the original it was Tai Li that used it and the equalists also use a similar technique. so Neutralise 50 Note any negative modifier to cost can be upped with extended duration. True masters could have x1000 duration, knocking out psi powers for a month! -Chi 10% Contact Agent -30% The problem I have is 4 consecutive hits to 'vitals'. not sure if aspectecd will do -20% Or should there be a takes ready time? at -30% Things that could help it are Malediction, ignores armoiur, Reliable at 10% per level. I suppose Chi Talent will add to the Will contest? Note Pressure points requires TOM and requires a -2 to hit and vs HT will for a short time cripple a limb. Pressure secrets require Pressure points and does the job through some armour. I like the idea this can block psi powers. |

Re: Neutralise
I can't remember a point in either series when the victim was able to break the combo in such a way that they were not affected by the Chi blockers. If someone was hit they stopped using that location. This makes me think the chain of punches can be a dramatic effect rather than a mechanical one.
If Bending has the limitation Requires Gestures the Pressure Points will model all of that nicely. Edit Martial Arts has the Special Exercises Perk that allows a character to take a cinematic skill without the prerequisite advantage and a technique to buy off the penalty to hit.

Re: Neutralise
The idea is 4 consecutive hits that has to be done in 4 seconds.
In gurps terms you may need pressure points to deaden limbs before going for the Neutralise. Yes you have to be damn good to stop a psi. Whilst in Avatar it was used against other chi things I thought these 'mystics' could be anti psis. |

The allows for misses result in shorter duration, and allows for rapid strikes to start it sooner. |

Like I said experts of this could knock out a psi for over a month. Unless the psi goes to chi unblocking doctor. Dunno, slaps the guy on a rack and stretches the psi :) |

Re: Neutralise
I wouldn't do it this way. I'd use Crippling Abilities for Benders which is suggested in Powers for Chi-based powers anyway.

I suppose other hits could be made to prevent parrying. The extended duration on Neutralise couild be limited to Psi powers only (1/5 of cost?). 1000 x 7 seconds is about 2 hours. Maybe linking Neutralise with Pressure Secrets that maybe -20%. Doing damage to the skull still require the whopping -7 to hit (pressure secret mod) and requires damage ie get pass DR2. Problems may occur if the target psi is wearing a helmet. |

Re: Neutralise
No you can't as Powers points out Basic set Neutralize should now be more correctly called Neutralize (Psi), in other words the basic ability is already limited to one source only.
