What happens if a Calabite loses its Discord?
I was thinking about this because I've been enamoured with the Tsayadim as of late. One of the write ups I was reading is this one:
http://www.amadan.org/Innomine/Uriel.htm I was looking at the Distinction Master of Purification and it talks about Scourge. I was wondering... Let's say a Calabite with 1 level of Discord messes with a Urielite. Urielite is a Master of Purification and blows the 10 Essence to inflict Scourge upon said Calabite. No more Discord. What happens to the Calabite? I can't see an automatic Redemption since it wasn't something the Calabite was looking for. Does he just go *poof* no more Calabite? That just seems too easy. What do you think? |

Possibly it loses a Force, then spontaneously develops a new Discord?

Re: What happens if a Calabite loses its Discord?
Though on a 111 somewhere, a spontaneous Redemption might be in order.
(But yes, the concept is that the Calabite's Discord is the hole that lets its entropic Resonance out, IIRC. So removing its Discord would tend to cause the Resonance to erupt, sooner or later...)

In the form of re-Discording him, yes.

Re: What happens if a Calabite loses its Discord?
Exactly.
Mind, if the Calabite didn't want to have Discord for some reason, a GM (and/or player) might manage some dramatic attempts to suppress the resonance-use, trying to bottle it up inside. Personally I would suggest that if such a thing were attempted, it should cause Body Hits (or other kinds of Hits, depending on the realm...) and require Will rolls. Not to mention that unless you can be really convincing that you needed to do this to sneak past an Ofanite of Judgment (Discord-sniffers, as I recall), Gamesters are likely to wonder why you would be doing such an un-Calabitey thing...

Re: What happens if a Calabite loses its Discord?
I dont think a Calabite CAN lose its base discord.
wait their is one way. Take the Calabite of Fate attunement Curious speaking of Redemption? If a Calabite redeems, A, does he keep his base discord. B: issue ive seen often enough to find notable... ideas on how to convert a redeemed calabite, especialy one built around "badassery" into an Ofanim? |
