Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
Yes, she does. It will stretch her expenses but might be worth the payoff...

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
Last question -- are she and the colonel on speaking terms as acquaintances, so that a wire out of the blue won't seem presumptuous? Or has she been an invisible part of "the help" thus far? What does she recall of his personality?

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
Well, the old fart is a chatterbox in general. He seems to talk to everyone, if only to hear himself talk. Mostly about business and politics. He's pleasent enough if you don't argue with him. He's talked her ear off once or twice. That's no guarantee that he remembers Chandra, but its better than most of the people. She's distinctive enough that a few words will be sufficient to make sure he knows who is asking.
Whether or not she has been invisible to the man's social calls is up to her: generally note is made of her and she is expected to stay in the room, but she's not really invited to talk, just to listen. A few well timed comments can go a long way though.

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
Chandra's aware enough of social currents (and enough of a survivor) that she would have placed a few well-timed comments into the conversations with the colonel ... enough to show interest and respect while still being properly deferential.
She chances the telegram -- and that her name is distinctive enough to call her to mind for him. FORGIVE IMPOSITION. FRIEND URGENTLY SEEKS SANSKRIT EXPERT HERE. KNOW YOUR EXPERIENCE, SOCIAL CIRCLE WIDE. ANY HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED. -- CHANDRA If he's as garrulous as she remembers, he won't be able to resist a reply -- and the inherent structure of a wire should keep him from running off too badly.

She freshens her appearance and then goes in search of Adam Dixon. Does she have any prior acquaintance with him?

She has no prior acquaintance with him.
How will she go about finding him?

Re: [IC] Lost in Dreams (Chandra)
She'll start with the local directory for Reading and see if she has any luck there. (There actually was one during this period in our world, known as "the buff book.")
