No, it doesn't matter. The attack does no damage regardless of the order, because successfully penetrating the outer layer of DR does not mean the follow-up attack ignores it. You must penetrate all layers of DR to ignore any layers.

I think Anthony's right, I can't retrace my train of thought last night.

The first post by lachimba mentions DR against cutting, but doesn't mention the nature of the 10 damage. Was this intended to be cutting damage?

Nereidalbel's response implied that and I went on that cue without initially noticing the omission.

Where the layering order can matter more is if you have some of your DR being Ablative or Semi-Ablative.

I'd like to know if it would be possible to create an option to alter which DR is on the inside/outside as some kind of cosmic enhancement.

The only way I can think to do that is by taking Force Field w/ Area Effect DR with selectivity, because whichever DR has the biggest range would be on the outside, I think.

As far as I can tell, the order is:
Barrier DR (i.e. you're behind a wall)
Force Field DR (in order of size, and then in whatever order you specify)
Worn Armor DR
Innate DR (in whatever order you specify).

Note that this has anomalous effects for nonrigid or tough skin that is not the inmost layer of armor, because nonpenetrating injury is based on damage striking that DR layer and is injury, not damage, and thus unaffected by further DR, and again, tough skin counts as skin contact if an attack reaches that layer.
