To end up crouching instead of prone? I wouldn't, as a) that means you can easily stand on your next turn and be ready to do it all over; and b) Acrobatic Dodge already goes really well with Dodge and Drop . |

also try to end up crouching after a non-damaging throw, but the lack of momentum makes it tricky: roll at Breakfall- 3" And perhaps we could even argue this would be the case of a controlled falling.. ? (Basic p 431) |

While we're at it, and since this thread is alive while the other is dead:
Anyone knows how the less-cinematic/more-realistic variants of Acrobatic Dodge look? What are they like? |

Re: [Basic] Skill of the week: Acrobatics
I would imagine quick pivots and spins rather than flashy and realistically slower flips and jumps.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=576YYQZ0iyU (0:30 seconds) I know the dodgeball game would count as a 'ranged' attack, but those moves look good enough to me for a 'realistic' acrobatic dodge. |

Re: [Basic] Skill of the week: Acrobatics
Assuming for game reason you want to keep Acrobatics in it's combat movement the main focus what want to represent that they also know Sport Gymnastics other than Tumbling technique would you just give it a Gymnastics Style perk which among other things cover the rule knowlege?

I used to put this on characters all the time, regardless of backstory, for the Acrobatic Dodge.
Now I mostly put it on thieves and swashbucklers, giving the latter Acrobatic Parry(Weapon of Choice) as well when I can.

You need a very high level with such a hard skill to confidently assume regular success in life or death situations.
