A mundane, 5 Force human has no Symphonic awareness nor ability to control Essence. But they could still be a player if skilled enough. What Skills can they use?
Ignore any Sorcery, Alchemy, Necromancy, or Enchantment Skills. Without Symphonic awareness, those are just esoteric useless Knowledge Skills. I've got the following: Dreaming (CPG), for lucid dreaming in the Marches. Meditation (CPG), for spending Essence in a focused effort. Knowledge (The War) (Core), for you know, knowledge. Knowledge (Geomancy) (Sup1), for nebulous justification of benefits Knowledge (Ghost Hunting/GhostLore) (LU), for ghost stuff.

Necromancy is actually going to double as Knowledge(forensics) and Embalming, being a professional skill at funeral homes. Sorcerous *rituals* can be taught: even by zombis. Note that a mundane can have Servants, including those with supernatural abilities. But the important mundanes are just that: those with Status/6 or higher |

Any skill that elevates a given Word. This would most commonly be skills such as Persuasion, Presence, Artistry, Music.

A non-celestial getting a Servant requires action by a Superior. Status is always useful. True. Mundane social skills and familiarity are priceless, up to and including Tether formation.

Truly. In principle a Renegade Habbalite of Lust could simply repeatedly attack a Blessed with Emptiness, and send the effect spinning through the Symphony...sooner or later triggering potential Redemption in other Habbalah.
Page reference for that? It simply isn't the case anyway, ethereals and sorcerers pick them up all the time. |

"Servants must normally be granted by a Superior." - CPG, p24. Of course, In Nomine is full of exceptions. Will-Wars, for instance, specifically call out creating a temp servant. ETA: As a DM, I wouldn't bat an eye at a servant, provided there's some story justification.

Ah, yes, tah. LS has pretty much been over ruled by later books, but it is good to know that the rule was written.
The simplest way for acquiring (voluntary) Servants would be using Alchemy to create a pair of potions granting the users the ability to start and immediately concede a Will-War; automatically creates Servant/2. Since Sorcery is an Attunement, it would take a week to manufacture though. |
