Re: [Space] Baseline Universe
Aw rates of dispersion in a 3-D volume. I was about to look up thoughts on that for my major ancient empire.

Re: [Space] Baseline Universe
TL9 with some ^, maaaybe TL10^ at most. Hyperspace mostly mimicking Babylon 5 and/or Star Control. NO FTL Comm. Inertialess or pseudoinertialess drives. Aliens in the style of either B5 or SC - i.e. ranging from Forehead to Starfish Aliens, plus some artificial ones, but no currently active energy beings, unless they're just background fluff or a cosmic horror (again, as in SC3). I'm not ready to seriously GM space yet, but this is vaguely what my default universe looks like.
BTW, why are you plagiarizing Sir_Pudding's user title? |

Molokh- No, I opened my silly mouth at some point and this was given to me by Andy Hackard. I can only surmise that Sir_Pudding did so also at some point.
MDLv3.2 - Thanks for the sources.

Re: [Space] Baseline Universe
His is but a unlicensed knock-off. My old title was trademarked, if you will recall. Alas it was lost in the great purge, but rejoice, for I have now a better one!
And (mostly) OT: I don't have a "baseline" universe. If I create a setting it's with specific purposes in mind and the setting reflects those. My last skiffy game was TL11 with lots of superscience and tons of genetically engineered humans and AIs. My current setting is more new weird than space opera, but it is interstellar and uses (mostly) realistic planets. It is TL4+2 though (with TL4+6 artifacts), and has lots of slightly weird but not very realistic aliens. |

Re: [Space] Baseline Universe
Andy's dealing in cheap, imported knock-offs of designer titles? For shame!
