Default Conan's Birthright question

Because I know this will come up in a game of ours at some point i'm going to ask it now,

The rules on Birthrights implay they work exactly the same as races or classes but with the exception that your not limited to just 1 in play.

This leads me to ask, if you have Noble in play and have another Noble in your hand could you play that to avoid having to give it as charity?

It would be a handy back up in case anything makes you lose a Birthright but it would also seems odd to be a Noble Noble Munchkin.

You can generally only have one of each named non-Item card in play (I forget where I saw this, and it seems a bit hard to search for it unfortunately). This is why you can't be the same race twice with Half-Breed, even though Half-Breed doesn't explicitly state you can't (although the FAQ does). You could discard one Noble and play the other Noble to avoid Charity.

The Rules for races and classes specifically say you can't have more than one of the same race or class in play at the same time, so it doesn't need to say that on the cards or on the half-breed and super munchkin cards either,

but it doesn't say anything like that for Birthrights

If you discard a birthright to play the same birthright then something happeneds that makes you lose a birthright you can't get that other birthright out of the discards,

It's not happened yet (then again I have not had Conan for a week yet) but I know the people in my gaming group and they are some of the biggest munchkins going!

I think it can be very safe to assume that you can only have one Birthright in play at a time unless a card says otherwise. I think Birthrights will be treated like Race/Class/Accent/Style/Mojo/etc.

Do you mean one of each type as the rules specifically say you can have both

Don't get me wrong i'm with you guys it would be silly to be a Barbarian Barbarian Cimmerian Warrior, but my gaming group will insist on reading the rule sheet, they will twist every card and rule wording to suit them, they are Munchkins at the core who know nothing of Wil Wheaton and his law

Well, given that the quoted rules seem pretty clear that you CAN have more than one in play, I'd say they will differ in that way, at least. I still would wager that you can't play multiple copies of the SAME birthright, since that would be rather odd, and make little sense gameplay-wise (they can't stack I assume). But obviously the official stance will make everything clear, once given.

Official answer: You cannot have multiple copies of the same Birthright card in play.
